For late night host Conan O'Brien, the tragic news of Robin Williams' passing came during the taping for Monday night's broadcast of his TBS show.
In the video below, O'Brien breaks the news to a stunned audience, explaining, "We tape these shows a few hours early and by the time you see this now on TV, I'm sure that you'll know. I'm sorry to anyone in our studio audience that I'm breaking this news. This is absolutely shocking and horrifying and upsetting on every level."

Considering the major arc for star Joel McHale, big guest turns by stars like Jonathan Banks and John Oliver, and an emotional farewell to star Donald Glover, it's reasonable to expect the show to be an Emmy contender in several key comedy categories, including Outstanding Writing.

Not only has Lady Cora's bedchamber not been the same since her scheming servant O'Brien left — she slinks away in the opening scene, and boy, is she missed — but the family and staff are in sustained mourning over the untimely (and contrived) death, six months earlier, of heir Matthew Crawley, Lady Mary's husband, in last year's unhappy finale.
