Wendy Williams Show Gets the Go-Ahead

All it took was a successful six-week run of The Wendy Williams Show to get the powers-that-be over at FOX to give the talk show the green light for a full season launch come mid-2009.The daily, one-hour show hosted by syndicated radio host Wendy Williams, follows a broad format of celebrity gossip, news events, interviews, as well as advice segments from Williams on everything from sex to money. “Everything about the Wendy preview clicked for our stations, from conception to promotion to hitting the air. It completely broke the mold. The show is now a proven winner, and we can’t wait to see it debut across the country next year,” says Frank Cicha, SVP of programming at Fox Television Stations. Even Williams has expressed how thrilled she is with the decision, saying her work on the show has proven to be "one of the most exciting times" in her life.
