Backstage: Smiles, Tears and Reflections from the Winners and More

"Thanksgiving is going to be just a lot of relaxing and quality family time," Brooke Burke said just moments after being named this season's Dancing with the Stars celebrity champ. "My family gave up a lot for me to do this. They gave up so much mommy time." Burke's pro partner, Derek Hough, similarly was happy to be a winner, yet just as thankful to get a deserved (if brief) time-out. "Dude, Thanksgiving is going to be rest," he declared. "Epson salt bath ... maybe a massage.  I have to start rehearsing for the tour on Friday."

Comedian Jeffrey Ross, who as part of Tuesday night's results show pointedly "roasted" his former cast mates, pondered what Burke and Hough could have done better. "Maybe if they had ... read full article

Backstage: Inside Warren and Kym's First Fight

If timing is everything, then Warren Sapp may be peaking on Dancing with the Stars at just the right moment. He came in a strong second on Monday night, and he did so despite the fact that he's been dancing with a huge disadvantage: He loses a full day of training every week. Read on to see how Warren's disadvantage led to his first big fight with Kym...

Cheers: He's Dancing as Fast as He Can

Cheers to Warren Sapp for throwing his weight around on Dancing with the Stars. Athletes have often excelled in the ballroom competition, but it's usually petite types like Apolo Anton Ohno, Helio Castroneves or Kristi Yamaguchi. Even Sapp's fellow gridiron vets Emmitt Smith and Jerry Rice were slender by NFL standards. At 300-plus pounds, the ex-defensive lineman should clomp around like Penn Jillette, but he's surprisingly light on his feet (and hugely charming); his Viennese waltz was downright dainty. Plus, it takes a real man to wear a pink shirt with such aplomb: Do you want to tell Sapp he looks silly?

Will Warren Sapp Tackle Dancing?

Dan Marino may not be joining Dancing with the Stars, but have no fear: You may still get your football fix on the dance floor next season.Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Oakland Raiders defensive tackle Warren Sapp is next on ABC's most wanted list, according to Season 2 runner-up Jerry Rice."They're really going after a big one this time. I think it's Warren Sapp," Rice revealed to Access Hollywood. If it's true, Sapp, who retired in 2007, will fulfill the "Big, Lumbering Athlete" quota for the series. Our wish list had Shaquille O'Neal, but Sapp will definitely do. "You're probably going to see him trim down, lose some weight," Rice said. "I know Warren, Warren is very competitive so he's going to give it 100 percent."Sapp, 35, would be the fourth football star DWTS recruits, following Rice, Season 3 winner Emmitt Smith and Season 6 runner-up Jason Taylor. So if history holds, he should at least make the final two.ABC will announce the full cast on Good Morning America on Monday. ... read more
