Slim -- Slim is a comedic coming of age vignette that covers the trials and tribulations of a young truck driver named Slim. The film begins with the musical narration from a wise old codger, who sets the stage for the story, and periodically reappears throughout the film to fill in narration and comment of the situations that slim finds himself in. Slim s major dilemma is that he has not mastered trucker lingo, and so is taken for a fool whenever he speaks over the airwaves. To remedy this situation, his radio dispatcher commands Slim to rest at the truck stop to learn from some of the veteran truckers. Upon arriving he is scared and bewildered by the unsavory truck stop personalities of Leroy and Guy, (two veteran truckers who take it upon themselves to educate slim). Despite their crude humor and attempts to scare a little sense into Slim, the two older truckers teach slim the ways of the road, and get him up to snuff on all the important lingo. When morning arrives and Slim must prove his worth, it turns out that he has a knack for the trucker lingo so long as he sings it out loud. This knack for music reveals the connection between slim, and the old codger character, who both share a love of song, and a soul for the road.
