Keck's Exclusives: CSI's Wallace Langham to Drop Dead

In the upcoming 14th season of CBS's CSI, romance is in the cards for David Hodges (Wallace Langham), who "will continue his flirtation with beautiful Italian women and explore the possibility of marriage," says executive producer Don McGill.

But first, look for Langham to moonlight on the Lifetime dramedy Drop Dead Diva as an odd auditor named Lester Tuttle, who harbors a secret agenda that may jeopardize the future of Harrison & Parker, the law firm where Jane works. "Wally has a warped sense of humor that lends itself perfectly to this role," says Diva exec producer Josh Berman. Langham will appear in Diva's August 11 summer finale before returning to wrap up his story in the fall.

When Jaclyn Smith starred on Charlie's Angels, her character, Kelly Garrett, "was kidnapped and had heroin injected into my toes," she remembers. Jaclyn gets nabbed again on the March 21 episode of CBS' CSI when the ageless beauty guests as Hodges' long-mentioned but never-seen... read more

Keck's Exclusives: Jaclyn Smith to Guest Star on CSI

The 5 Roles That Prove Ted Danson Is Right for CSI

Over the summer, veteran CBS procedural CSI had the unenviable task of replacing its series lead for the second time in three seasons. And while a number of stars' names were bandied about, executive producers Carol Mendelsohn and Don McGill could think of only one man to follow in the footsteps of Laurence Fishburne and William Petersen: Ted Danson.

Fall Preview: Get scoop on your favorite returning shows

"He's able to do so many things. He's such a smart actor," McGill tells TVGuide.com. "We sort of had a rough idea of what this character of D.B. Russell was. Then, when we saw Ted's name and thought he might be available, I think we both just sparked.  He was the guy that we were thinking about."

Still, many found Danson's casting a bit surprising.... read more

Wallace Langham's Hodges Escapes CSI Lab for Sci-Fi Rendezvous with Liz Vassey

What do you get when you cross Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica and CSI? Wallace Langham tells TVGuide.com it's the perfect mix for lab-rat Hodges to get some alone time with longtime crush Wendy (Liz Vassey) at a sci-fi convention. Thursday's CSI (CBS, 9 pm/ET), written by former Star Trek and Battlestar scribes, features not only Hodges and Wendy but also Battlestar's Kate Vernon and creator Ronald D. Moore. Langham talked to us about Hodges' superiority complex, fantasy life, and slight idealization of Wendy's breasts. read more

On CSI, Lab (and Other) Rats Rule

It's easy to take shows like the original CSI for granted. (I often hear from viewers wondering why no one makes a bigger fuss over the better procedurals of the day, from Cold Case and Without a Trace to the various incarnations of Law & Order. The simple answer: Glut exhaustion.) Which is why I found Thursday night’s “Lab Rats” episode of CSI so captivating. Switching up the formula a bit, adding welcome doses of humor and even a bit of slapstick, while never losing sight of the joy of the puzzle, CSI delivered one of the most purely enjoyable episodes of anything this season. The idea was to give the lab-bound geeks a moment in the spotlight, taking advantage of Grissom’s absence in the morgue to do their own digging into the crime-scene miniatures that have haunted the show most of the season. (The episode was also a nifty primer of this mystifying case for those who might have missed an episode along the way. Which in this age of Grey’s Anatomy compe... read more
