Because of hyperactivity as a youth, he attended classes for children with behavioral problems in school.
Early in his career, he starred in an Afterschool Special with Peter Billingsley of Christmas Story fame. In 2006, Billingsley served as executive producer for Vaughn's feature The Break-Up.
Starred in an unsold pilot for a remake of the '50s series 77 Sunset Strip.
On the heels of Wedding Crashers, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy and other hits, he was named the ShoWest Comedy Star of the Year in 2006.
