Returning to his Montana home to seek revenge against Tucker Ordway (Robert Barrat) for humiliating him and thwarting his romance with Ordway's daughter, Corinna (Dorothy Malone), cowboy Larry Madden (Randolph Scott) instead finds himself the unwitting champion of Corinna's husband. Madden's feelings for Corinna complicate the situation further as he makes peace with the ailing Ordway and tries to stop ruthless men from stealing his ranch.
