Vanessa Hudgens with her dad, Greg by Gary Gershoff/WireImage.com

High School Musical starlet Vanessa Hudgens' father, Greg, grew outraged and began flinging a water bottle at paparazzi when he and his daughter were swarmed by rapidly clicking shutterbugs as they emerged from a Hollywood gym on Nov. 7. According to Us, Vanessa bellowed "Daaaaad!" and then put her head down to mask her embarrassment. Given Pop's Tony Little-esque workout attire, who can blame the gal? read more

High School Musical's Vanessa Argues: I Was a Minor!

High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens on Thursday put her best baby feet forward in a bid to make a $150,000 lawsuit go away. Charged with owing outstanding fees to her former lawyer, Hudgens filed a motion — accompanied by her baby-footprinted birth certificate — arguing that she was a minor, all of 16, when she inked her contract with the plaintiff, and thus cannot be held liable. A hearing on the matter has been set for Dec. 5. read more

Corbin Bleu Ponders the Pressures on High School Musical Stars

Corbin Bleu, High School Musical

If you thought the kids from High School Musical couldn't possibly soar any higher, think again. On Oct. 8 Corbin Bleu literally defied gravity as part of the Northrop Grumman Weightless Flights of Discovery, a program designed to provide teachers with material that will inspire kids to pursue careers in math and science. When Bleu returned to earth, TVGuide.com was there to talk about his flight experience as well as the upcoming HSM3. TVGuide.com: Tell me exactly what happened up there!Corbin Bleu: Well, they take you up in a modified plane that has had all the seats removed, leaving an empty space in the middle for me to move around in. What they do then is move the plane in a way that creates a very, very strong force of gravity, a lot stronger than we're used to. It's like those rides where you're st read more

After watching the dreadful ...

Ryan Seacrest hosting the Emmys

Question: After watching the dreadful Emmys, I'm wondering if there is any thought of eliminating this awards show, or at the very least completely overhauling the format. Who could honestly claim that this year's show celebrated the best in television over the past year? Let's review the problems with the Emmys: 1) The nomination process: When only three networks existed, I'm sure it wasn't difficult to decide who to nominate. But now with five major networks and dozens of free and pay-cable channels, it seems impossible to properly choose the five best candidates in each category. 2) The winners: Every year seems to be this mixed bag of the confusing and predictable. There never appears to be any consistency in their picks. How could 30 Rock win for best comedy and yet Alec Baldwin not win for best actor? 3) The categories: I have nothing against Tony Bennett and I'm sure his special was great, but to lump his one-night special against shows that air every night seems unfair. 4) The ... read more

Vanessa Hudgens, Beaver and More Legal Briefs

Vanessa Hudgens by Kevin Parry/WireImage.com

High School Musical starlet Vanessa Hudgens is being sued by her former lawyer, Brian Schall, who claims that out of the five percent of the $5 million she has earned since he came onboard in October 2005, he still has $150,000 due him. Per the AP, Hudgens' rep has yet to comment on the legal action.... Ken Osmond, aka Leave It to Beaver's Eddie Haskell, has filed a multimillion-dollar lawsuit seeking unpaid royalties form the Screen Actors Guild. Now a retired police officer, Osmond contends that the union has collected $8 million-plus in foreign residuals, but has yet to pass on the coinage to its members. SAG's general counsel tells the Reporter he has not seen the complaint, and thus has no comment. read more

8:50: Seacrest jokes that the cast of Kid Nation is powering the "green" Emmys by running on treadmills backstage. Why isn't Larry Sanders hosting this?8:51: Tony Bennett is singing now for some reason with Donatella Versace. Eek! Wait, no, that's Christina Aguilera doing a Paris Hilton impression (except vocally, thankfully).8:52: The dancing looks slick when we can see it. (Hint, hint, cameramen.)8:52:30 Is it really wise for a pregnant lady like Xtina to stand on top of a piano?8:53: Is it really wise for anyone to wear that much bronzer? Easy, Christina. Easy.8:54: Alec Baldwin presents a directing award to the guy who helmed last season's Tony Bennett special, without making any reference to his recent "troubles." This leaves me only to focus on how bloated he looks. At least now I get why Bennett performed.8:55: Kiefer Sutherland and Ali Larter make a cute couple. And red is her color. HSM's Vanessa Hudgens: Not Tonight, Honey, I Have a Scandal

I am really hoping that ...

Question: I am really hoping that Disney will do the right thing and pay the High School Musical cast what they are worth so they will all sign on for HSM3. My 7-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter absolutely love both movies, and we would all be sad if Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens sit out over money disputes. They seem like very level-headed kids, considering the whirlwind surrounding them right now. Didn't Disney make these movies for very little money? If so, who is profiting from the merchandising? We have both soundtracks, my daughter has some HSM clothes, and the stores are filling up with toys, party products, cards, etc. It seems only fair to give these young actors a cut of that money, since they are the reason the kids love the movies! I am praying that none of the HSM kids will turn into a Britney or LiLo. They all seem like good people who are aware of the tweens watching their every move. I hope they can enjoy this time in their lives and that they continue to make ... read more

Speaking out for the first time since her nude and racy photos slipped into cybercirculation, Vanessa Hudgens offers impressionable High School Musical fans an earnest mea culpa (have Mom look it up in a Latin dictionary). "I want to apologize to my fans, whose support and trust means the world to me," the 18-year-old starlet says in a statement released to TVGuide.com. "I am embarrassed over this situation and regret having ever taken these photos. I am thankful for the support of my family and friends."And the Mouse House's take on it all? "Vanessa has apologized for what was obviously a lapse in judgment," Disney Channel spokeswoman Patti McTeague tells the AP. "We hope she's learned a valuable lesson."Related: HSM Starlet's Nude Pic Goes Public; Disney Mum on "Fired" Rumblings read more

HSM Starlet's Nude Pic Goes Public; Disney Mum on "Fired" Rumblings

Vanessa Hudgens by Steve Granitz/WireImage.com

This news certainly will make mild-mannered Mickey Mouse's ears perk up. Hours after a nude photo of someone resembling Vanessa Hudgens circulated the Internet, the 18-year-old High School Musical star came forth to admit that it is, in fact, her in the pic. In a statement to TMZ, a rep for Hudgens says, "This was a photo which was taken privately. It is a personal matter and it is unfortunate that this has become public." The Enquirer, which broke the story, claims Hudgens snapped some racy pics for HSM beau Zac Efron. Alas, they fell into nefarious hands (as nude pics of up-and-coming starlets tend to do). "Shooting into a mirror with her camera phone, she took photos of herself stripped except for a gold chain around her waist," writes the tabloid. "She also photographed herself in the tub, blowing kisses... and sensuously pulling down her bikini bottom."It's enough to make Corbin Bleu turn red. As for Disney, the company thus far is offering a firm "No comment" on talk that Hud... read more
