Will The Revolution still be televised? The ABC daytime makeover show — hosted by Jennifer Ashton, Tim Gunn, Tiffanie Davis Henry, Harley Pasternak and Ty Pennington — has had a difficult time reinventing ABC's daytime lineup, only pulling about half the viewers that One Life to Live previously attracted in the timeslot. The Revolution may have to make way for Katie Couric's new talk show, which launches on many ABC stations this fall. But...
Extreme Makeover Home Edition
For 199 episodes, Ty Pennington and his design team have led a television phenomenon that has helped deserving families in all 50 states. This Friday, January 13, at 8/7c, the 200th episode and series finale of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition airs on ABC. To all who have ever cried or laughed watching an episode of this series over the last nine years, I hope you will set aside the two hours to watch what I believe is the most impressive feat of non-fiction television in a long while. From my experience, no factual television series has attempted to accomplish so much, by so many, for such a good cause, in one single episode.

Ty Pennington has found the most extreme home of them all: The high-end auction house.
The host of TV's long-running feel-good reality series Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Pennington has now signed on to host The Great Big American Auction — which just landed a pilot order from ABC. (Pennington's not moving far: ABC is also the network behind Home Edition.)
Think of Great Big American Auction as a more contemporary Antiques Roadshow. In this case, Great Big American Auction will feature personal treasures with a historic, artist or pop culture bent, all being auctioned off to the higher bidder (and all with a personal story to boot). Among the examples: A near-mint copy of Amazing Spider-Man #1; a ring once owned by Elvis Presley; and an autographed Les Paul guitar being auctioned off to benefit Cystic Fibrosis research.
The show is also touting a fully intact

To quote Extreme Makeover: Home Edition's Ty Pennington, talk about bringing down the house.
For its second show of the season, the sobfest took a break from rebuilding floors and walls to raise the roof when guest Kristin Chenoweth stopped by for a little song and dance. Aside from Brian Austin Green on Desperate Housewives, it was the cutest thing on TV last night....
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition's Ty Pennington by Vivian Zink/ABC
One of ABC's most ambitious projects on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition has become a victim of the foreclosure crisis. In 2005, more than 1,800 people volunteered to help tear down one family's home in Georgia and replace it with a lavish mini-mansion. The Harper family used the home as collateral for a loan, but now has to put the house on the auction block August 5 a situation not even Ty Pennington can fix. The AP reports that the Harpers told a local news station that they applied the money toward a construction firm that's gone out of business. ABC issued a statement saying that it encourages Makeover families to get financial advice once they receive their new homes. It's sad to see recipients of such a great gift have to lose it so soon what's your take on how things were handled? Anna Dimond
