Michael Rosenbaum, Smallville
Over Smallville's nine-year run, the show's universe has fittingly expanded; yet, fans would like to see a few characters come back.
Though we haven't see her in quite a while, Martha Kent (Annette O'Toole) is still alive and well. Even though Lex Luthor (Michael Rosenbaum) is presumably dead, the Superman mythos would have to disagree. Jimmy Olson (Aaron Ashmore) was also lost last season, but the real photog and eventual best friend to Clark Kent (Tom Welling) is still running around somewhere.
Executive producer Kelly Souders discusses the fate, fortune or future of various Smallville characters who've been missing in action...

Smallville
Allison Mack may not have had a lot of screen time this season on Smallville, but the producers are making up for it with a fiery new love interest for Chloe Sullivan. Smallville
Few TV love triangles have sparked fan debate like the one between Smallville's Chloe (Allison Mack), Lois (Erica Durance) and Clark (Tom Welling).
On one hand, Chloe is Clark's longtime best friend, and though she has pined hard for the future Man of Steel, lately their relationship has been strained. On the other hand, it's hard to overlook the Superman mythology that says Lois and Clark are pretty much destined to be together. But Chlark 'shippers still haven't given up hope that the chemistry between Clark and Chloe will turn into something more.
Smallville: Who's going to die?
So, TVGuide.com asked executive producer Kelly Souders to settle the debate once and for all: Will Clark and Chloe ever have a romantic relationship?

Cassidy Freeman, Smallville
As if Smallville's Clark (Tom Welling) didn't have enough on his plate with robotic men with kryptonite hearts trying to kill him and zombies taking over Metropolis, but now his greatest foe, Zod (Callum Blue) is teaming up with Lex Luthor's protégé, Tess Mercer (Cassidy Freeman).

What happens when two evil characters join forces? Nothing good, Freeman tells TVGuide.com. Just think of all the people Tess can destroy once she's got a Kandorian on her side. But is she really after the destruction of Earth, or is she trying to protect it? See what Freeman has to say — and more.
TVGuide.com: Originally Tess released Zod to make Clark become the hero he's meant to be, but it's backfired with all the trouble the Kandorians have been causing.
Cassidy Freeman: She didn't know what was going to happen when she released the orb. All she knew was that she was listening to it and doing what it told her to do. I didn't really expect what has happened, but I will continue to try and make it right and make sure that my initial thought of...

Smallville - Brian Austin Green
Brian Austin Green is a really mean machine on Smallville (Oct. 2 8/7c, CW).
In Friday's episode, poor John Corbin (Green) gets mowed over by a bus. Cue the creation of Metallo, the iconic DC super villain who has it out for the Blur, aka Clark Kent (Tom Welling). Metropolis and its residents, especially Lois Lane (Erica Durance), aren't safe with him on the streets.
Green graciously talked with us about all things Metallo, including who built him, why he hates the Blur and whether he'll return later this season...

Julian Sands
Terence Stamp may have voiced Jor-El for Smallville, but Julian Sands is taking on his Kryptonian form.
As seen in the season finale, Zod (Callum Blue) has ventured to Earth, albeit unaware of Clark (Tom Welling) and who he'll grow to be. Zod has brought a few Kandorians along for the ride — including Jor-El, Clark's biological dad...

William Petersen (CSI), Terry O'Quinn (Lost) and Johnny Galecki (The Big Bang Theory)
Starting with this week's column, Matt Webb Mitovich and Mickey O'Connor welcome fellow senior editor Tim Molloy to the Mega mix. Every Wednesday, our troika of scoop-hunters will answer your questions! (To that end, send all queries to mega_scoop@tvguide.com.)
I will be sad when William Petersen leaves CSI, because I don't think he will be able to be replaced. I will watch the first week he is gone, but I don't think I will watch it after that. — Fox
MATT: Normally I turn a blind eye to Mega Buzz questions not phrased as such, but this topic begs addressing. Having sneak-peeked this Thursday's (super-creepy!) episode, in which Gil first shares his decision to leave CSI, I concur that yes, it is going to be very hard to say goodbye come Jan. 15. But I must put this out there: Give change a chance. After getting a feel for Laurence Fishburne's criminology prof, I'm curious ...

Tom Welling and Erica Durance in Smallville by Michael Courtney/The CW
This season on the CW's Smallville, Clark will go to work at the "Daily Planet," where he'll bump desks with Lois Lane. The predestined set-up understandably has some fans already lobbying for a lip-lock.Well, there's one coming.Sources whisper to me that in this season's fifth episode, titled "Committed," Clark and Lois will be "forced" to make like lovebirds as they investigate some strange goings-on involving a crazy guy and a Moment of Truth-esque lie detector "game." It is in the course of this bit of harrowing, shoe-leather reporting that the "Daily" duo find themselves engaged in a smooch. How real is their clinch? You'll have to wait and see and fiercely debate decide for yourselves. After all, let's not forget that these two have macked on each other before namely, once when Lo mistook CK for the Green Arrow, and again when she was under the influence of that drugged lipstick. But perhaps the third time is the charm? Oh, and the "flying" reference in my headline? That...
