Trailer for the documentary Redemption Stone, which screened at the 2010 Slamdance Film Festival.
Redemption Stone introduces Tom Lewis, a storyteller of quiet power who brings an extraordinary spirit to his life and work. Tom s compelling memoir recounts the aftereffects of poverty, social upheaval and rebirth that shape his unique American journey.
Born into a family of sixteen children, Tom navigates his way through the world as a migrant worker, a factory laborer, a soldier and then a riot cop on the mean streets of Washington, D.C. Tom s journey leads him to a burned out old house in one of the roughest run-down neighborhoods in our nation s capitol where he opens up a place he calls The Fishing School. It s here that Tom confronts the challenging issues he faces and turns hardship into hope for the children in his community. watch
Mark Lewis is a cameraman in a film studio. In his off-hours, he takes nude 'art' photographs which are sold under-the-counter by newsagents. Mark's father was a famous scientist who devoted his life to the study of the psychology of fear, using his own son as his 'guinea pig'. His father would wake him by shining a bright light in his eyes and photograph his terrified reactions with a cine camera. Mark, now an adult, has grown into an insane killer with an obsession to record on celluloid the fear on the face of a victim whom he is about to kill. watch
