Marin Hinkle is cornering the market on bitter ex-wife roles. The Two and a Half Men actress (she plays John Cryer's uptight ex) has been cast as Courtney McCallister, the bitter former spouse of Rob Lowe's Sen. McCallister, on Brothers & Sisters. She'll appear in one episode this fall, but it's likely she'll be back for more. In the episode, Courtney goes on a Larry King Live-type talk show to discuss her estranged hubby's bid for the White House further inflaming tensions between the two. Since Hinkle is a series regular on Men, it's safe to say that she had to get CBS and Warner Bros.' OK before committing to B&S. In other casting news, Tom Everett Scott has sealed a deal with ABC's Cashmere Mafia to play the fiancé of Lucy Liu's character which is a little strange since in the pilot I saw she was definitely single. I'm sure there's a very good explanation for that. Or not.

It'll be fun to see where they take this character. I also liked the photomontage sequences that provided a small glimpse into each patient's life. I thought it was a fresh and interesting way to tell their stories. What do you think?
Answer: I'm going to give this one a few more episodes before I make a final judgment, but I agree more with your initial impression. To me, it's a poor man's Rescue Me. Saved seems ponderous and pretentious, where Rescue Me is provocative and shockingly entertaining. I've always liked Tom Everett Scott, but I find the particulars

Described by some as "Rescue Me for the ambulance-driving set," TNT's Saved (Mondays at 10 pm/ET; the premiere rebroadcasts this Wednesday at 11 pm) stars Tom Everett Scott as Wyatt Cole, a paramedic dealing — or not — with a domineering father, a lady doc "ex," and the dilemma of whether to give med school that one last long-after-college try. Oh, and he also has a gambling problem, one so bad it puts his self-stitching expertise to good use. TVGuide.com
