Bones' executive producers believe Booth and Brennan still have plenty of obstacles to overcome this season. But they don't all have to be so serious!
Case in point: Monday's episode (8/7c, Fox) finds Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) struggling with Booth's decision to invite Sweets (John Francis Daley) to be their houseguest. And it won't be very long before Booth realizes three's a crowd.

Bones begins its eighth season with lots of unanswered questions, but there's one in particular that many of the show's characters must ask this season: Is love enough?

"What we are trying to do this season is have everybody re-examining their relationships," executive producer Stephan Nathan tells TVGuide.com. "[Last season] everyone came together, everybody's relationships were solidified, and it was kind of a happy season. All of that got pulled apart at the end of the year, and now everybody is seeing the world in a new way." ...
All will not be forgiven when Bones returns this fall.
In the Season 7 finale, Brennan (Emily Deschanel) left Booth (David Boreanaz) in the dust to go on the lam with her former convict father Max (guest star Ryan O'Neal) after she was framed for murder by hacker/serial killer Christopher Pelant (Andrew Leeds). When the Fox drama's action picks up three months later this fall (Monday, Sept. 17 at 8/7c), Brennan will still be off the grid and Booth will be called to action to bring his baby mama home.

"It's still Bones," executive producer Stephen Nathan said Thursday at the Fox drama's PaleyFest event, which featured a panel moderated by TVLine's Michael Ausiello. "We don't want to give the impression that we're doing Parenthood."
