Casey Wilson: Marry Me's Annie Is Less Desperate Than Happy Endings' Penny

Casey Wilson and Ken Marino

On NBC's upcoming comedy Marry Me, Happy Endings star Casey Wilson will trade in single girl Penny for Annie, a woman who's been in a steady six-year relationship with Jake (Ken Marino). "Annie is slightly less desperate than Penny," Wilson said at the Television Critics Association fall previews on Sunday. "I'll try to do subtle difference between the characters. Annie doesn't always act like Penny."

Tim Meadows Slams SNL for Doing Bill Brasky Sketch Without Him

Tim Meadows

For most, the Bill Brasky sketch on the Paul Rudd-fronted SaturdayNight Live was a highlight — but not Tim Meadows.

The former SNL cast memeber, who had previously appeared in four Brasky sketches, took to Facebook to express his displeasure at not being invited to participate.

"I guess it just dawned on me that I mean NOTHING to them...I'm just being overly sensitive. It doesn't matter in the long run. I'm grateful for what they did for me. But everyone in a while as a fan and a alumni, it stings a little to not even be considered as someone they would like to come back around," Meadows wrote.

SNL Grads Find a New Playground on Suburgatory

Ana Gasteyer, Rachel Dratch

In theory, the ultra-conservative, country club-going fictional town of Chatswin, N.Y., seems worlds away from the controversial, tongue-in-cheek humor of Saturday Night Live. However, thanks to the magic of Suburgatory, suburbia and Stage 8H don't feel so far apart after all.

Since debuting last year, the ABC family comedy has welcomed several SNL vets into the fold, including Ana Gasteyer, Chris Parnell and Jay Mohr. The trend continues this season with the upcoming introduction of Tim Meadows as Malik's dad and — on Wednesday's Halloween episode (9:30/8:30c on ABC) — Rachel Dratch guest-stars as Paula, Sheila Shay's (Gasteyer) childhood rival, aka "The Witch of East Chatswin."

In case you haven't seen the incessant promos during the MLB playoffs and Conan, GD is a new sitcom about a group of freshmen rushing a fraternity at an Indiana university in 1986. (Unfortunately, there's nothing rushed about the show — it's an hourlooong show, a fact the ads fail to mention.) No collegiate-comedy cliché goes unturned, from the shtick-figure characters — the virgin, the jock, the stoner — to the predictable debauchery, with gag topics running the gamut from bongs to beer bongs... read more
