Kelly Tilghman made her return to the Golf Channel at 3 pm/ET today for coverage of the Buick Invitational. Tilghman was suspended by the network for two weeks following controversial on-air comments she made about Tiger Woods on Jan. 4. During a discussion of Woods' dominance on the golf course, Tilghman said challengers would need to "lynch him in a back alley" if they were to have any chance of winning. In a statement, Woods said he knew "unequivocally that there was no ill intent in her comments," and called it "a non-issue." Still, the Golf Channel felt the need to bench Tilghman while the situation cooled off. Before this afternoon's coverage began, in a pretaped apology Tilghman said, "In a recent live broadcast, I used an inappropriate word that was offensive to many. Over the last two weeks I've taken the time to reflect and truly understand the impact of what I said. While I did not intend to offend anyone, I understand why those words were hurtful. I am terribly sorry for ...
