Wonder Years' Danica McKellar Teams Up with Apolo Ohno for Syfy Original Movie

Danica McKellar, Apolo Ohno

Syfy is known for their weird pairings — Tiffany and Debbie Gibson in Mega Python vs. Gatoroid for instance — so it comes as no surprise that the network is teaming up a Wonder Years star and an Olympic gold medalist for a new original movie.

Watercooler: The Glory of Mega Python Vs Gatoroid

Deborah Gibson and Tiffany

It could have been so beautiful. It could have been so right. But only in our dreams did we ever imagine this weekend's Syfy spectacular being such a glorious buffet of cheesy brilliance.

From the casting — pop footnotes-turned-producers Debbie Gibson (way too gaunt as the eco wacko scientist) and Tiffany (resembling a Rosie Greenbaum in park-ranger drag) — to the Dollar Store effects to the groaner-laden script ("we're gonna need a bigger gator"), MpvG was a mile-long mess. Not a single character made sense... read more

Tiffany, Alan Thicke Add Sparkle to April 21 Mother

Alan Thicke by Denise Truscello/ WireImage.com

The April 21 episode of How I Met Your Mother is turning into a wonderful '80s flashback. Already marking the return of Robin Sparkles, the outing will feature visits from former teen popstress Tiffany and Growing Pains' Alan Thicke, playing Ms. Sparkles' gal pal and father, respectively, in a newly unearthed video for "Sandcastles in the Sand," a ballad Robin wrote upon being dumped by her backup-dancer beau (Dawson's Creek's James Van Der Beek).HIMYM co-creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas wrote and composed "Sandcastles in the Sand" as the B-side of "Let's Go to the Mall," using iconic '80s breakup ballads such as "Foolish Beat" and "Toy Soldiers" as inspiration. With Michael Gross (Family Ties) having guested as Ted's pop and Bob Saget (Full House) playing narrator, Thicke represents the third classic '80s dad to get involved with the CBS sitcom. What's your take? Is this shaping up to be one of Mother's best eps? — MWM read more

Will Tiffany Go from Has-Been to Hit?

In tonight's premiere of Hit Me Baby One More Time (9 pm/ET on NBC), an assortment of ex-stars of rock and pop music take another shot at fame. They'll perform the classic oldies they're best known for, as well as their personal favorite modern-day hits, while trying to shake off that unflattering "has-been" label. Welcome to the very random and wacky world of summer TV. Among the participants is Tiffany, who also appeared in the original U.K. version of Hit. Tonight she'll sing her No. 1 hit "I Think We're Alone Now" and "Breakaway" by Kelly Clarkson. "I am a big fan of vocalists," Tiffany tells TVGuide.com. "That's why I'm a big Kelly Clarkson fan. I went to the finale of American Idol when she won [the first season]." Earlier this year, Tiff saw and heard newly minted AI winner Carrie Underwood sing her old tune "Could've Been." "It is a hard song to sing and she nailed it," the '80s songbird confirms. "Her v read more
