Star Says McG's Fastlane Is Speeding to DVD!

Fastlane: Peter Facinelli, Tiffani Thiessen and Bill Bellamy courtesy Warner Bros. Television

Last week in his "Joy of Sets" column right here at DVD News & Reviews, Damian Holbrook posted his "wish list of shows [he] would LOVELOVELOVE to show up on DVD during 2008" (that's a direct quote). Near the top of Damian's list was the 2002 series Fastlane, created by McG through Warner Bros. Television, and airing on the Fox Network. The show starred Peter Facinelli (Six Feet Under, Damages), Bill Bellamy (How to Be a Player, Any Given Sunday) and Tiffani Thiessen (aka Tiffani-Amber Thiessen; Beverly Hills 90210, Saved by the Bell) as undercover cops using confiscated goods to go after the crooks in L.A., and included a ton of great guest stars among the 22 episodes produced. Now Peter Facinelli's official website is saying that the show is on its way to DVD this coming summer. If that doesn't put a smile on Damian's face, I'm not sure what will! For more details about this, and for a look at the graphic showing off the news, read the full story at TVShowsOnDVD.com! — David... read more

February 19, 2007: Easy on the Eyes

I think I'm favoring some of the new faces on this show. Jessica Szohr is a feisty one! There was definitely a spark between her and Brian before Stephanie came in with her thigh-high boots, asking for a T-shirt to sleep in. There's a lot of sexual tension within that apartment complex, and I'm not sure how Brian and Bridget will fare while Lucy and Ethel are around. Tiffani Thiessen is a welcome addition as well. (Check out my interview with Saved by the Bell’s Kelly Kapowski to hear about her Brian guest run.) She's just getting started stirring the pot among Dave and friends. In fact, it looks like she's on the prowl in the previews, but we'll have to wait two weeks to find out who falls under her spell. I definitely saw some of my old friend, Valerie Malone, from Beverly Hills, 90210. The devilish smirk, the secret scheming… that's pure Val right there. But Fatty Natty's carving her own mold despite hints of the previous bad girls Thiessen has on her résumè. ... read more

Saved by the Belle: Tiffani Thiessen Sexes Up ABC's Brian

Tiffani Thiessen, What About Brian

Zack Morris, eat your heart out. Kelly Kapowski's lengthy tresses and spandex minis have nothing on the sexy, manipulative roles Tiffani Thiessen has filled since leaving Saved by the Bell's Bayside High. Having actually shed her on-screen sweetheart persona long ago — her most memorable post-Bell gig was as Beverly Hills, 90210 troublemaker Valerie Malone — Thiessen continues to shake things up, this time with a saucy turn on ABC's What About Brian (starting tonight at 10 pm/ET). Via e-mail, Thiessen shared with TVGuide.com her thoughts on "appealing" to her audience, vying for an Ugly role and supporting her former costars. TVGui read more

As much as I try to get into ...

Question: As much as I try to get into What About Brian, something about it just doesn't stick. It has its moments. I hope the newest addition of Tiffani Thiessen changes that. She's great at playing the tease. Though I have to say, I was hoping Thiessen would make a cameo/brief appearance at least on Grey's Anatomy as another one of Derek's sisters with a McSteamy past. What are your thoughts?
Answer: Just guessing, but if Thiessen had her choice, I bet she'd have picked going on Grey's over Brian as well. As for her joining the What About Brian ensemble: another case of too little too late ... read more

This isn't a difficult ...

Question: This isn't a difficult question, but your answer will surely settle a dispute between myself and my "know-it-all" hubby, who is a couch potato deluxe! On Just Shoot Me there was a guest appearance by (I say) Tiffany Ann Bethusan. That's probably misspelled. She was the gal on Saved by the Bell when she was younger. Hubby says it's not the same Tiffany — it's someone else. Can you let me know? I missed the credits! Help! Thanks so much.

Answer: Well you just tell hubby that with his off-the-mark observations, that "deluxe" title applies to time spent watching, not breadth or depth of knowledge. (You, however, get points for admitting when your spelling is wonky — and for attempting to sound the young lady's name out.)

Fastlane's Girl-on-Girl Encore

Viewers may have gotten a kick out of Tiffani Thiessen and Jaime Pressly's sapphic hot-tub smooch on the Jan. 17 Fastlane, but filming the same-sex sequence was no picnic for the former Saved by the Bell goody two-shoes. "It was freakin' freezing in the jacuzzi because they didn't heat it," Thiessen tells TV Guide Online. "That was the only thing that was really difficult about it. It was so cold." Well, the ex-90210 hellraiser can warm herself with the knowledge that her suffering was not in vain. The heavily-promoted lip-lock gave the show a considerable ratings bump in its new Fridays-at-8 pm/ET time slot. Not surprisingly, Thiessen though read more
