Premonition is in the air when Diane arrives for work certain that Sam will propose. Meanwhile, Tom Babson is sure the results of his tenth bar exam will be successful. When Tom's hunch turns out to be right, Carla warns Sam to beware, and to avoid Diane to prevent any 'mistakes.' Late in the day, Sam asks everyone to leave the bar so he can have a private talk with Diane and insists that he will never propose to her again. But, when she breaks down and begins to cry, there's nothing for him to do but propose. Because she feels that she's trapped him into it, Diane, of course, says no. Furious, Sam chases Diane out of Cheers and down the street. The following day, Tom is in Cheers explaining why Sam has retained him as defense against the assault charges Diane has pressed. In court it's explained that Diane injured herself in a fall while running from Sam and so Tom's plea-bargain involves all charges being dropped if Sam will propose again. He does and Diane finally accepts. watch
