In the Terence Stamp movie ...

Question: In the Terence Stamp movie The Limey, the filmmakers appears to have incorporated clips of an earlier film in which he appeared. Am I right and, if so, what's the name of the movie?Answer: The Limey (1999) cuts back and forth between the present and the past: In the present, aging English gangster — Terence Stamp — cuts a bloody swath through Southern California in search of the truth behind his estranged daughter's death, and in the flashbacks we see snippets of his relationship with his wife and little girl some 30 years earlier. Rather than cast younger actors to play Stamp and his family in flashbacks, director Steven Soderbergh did indeed use scenes from an older movie, read more

Smallville In the WB universe,...

SmallvilleIn the WB universe, this two-hour Smallville qualifies as a movie event. In my little world, they're repeats. Specifically, they are last season's finale and this year's season premiere. Nice try, WB. Jane Seymour tries to kick some Lana Lang butt, that is until Possessed Lana takes charge and stabs Jason Teague's mama with one of those precious stones everyone went all insane over. Speaking of Mr. Teague, it was sad to see him go out the way he did, looking all bloody and stupid in the Kent house. My favorite scene is still the Clark-and-Chloe confab in the hospital at the North Pole: "To me, you're more than a hero. You're a superhero." Yes, I got all warm and fuzzy after she said this, making me the biggest sap on the planet. I'm well aware of this fact. read more

OK, last week's tease was a dead...

OK, last week's tease was a dead giveaway as to what was going to happen this week: Clark would turn back into SuperClark, mainly because we saw him "die." As if. So I decided to watch anyway because: 1) I write the Smallville Watercooler. And 2) I'm on an unending quest to spot James Marsters. But for the second week in a row, he's a no-show. (So cold, Smallville. So cold.) What we did get was some Lana and Clark lookin' all googly-eyed-in-love with each other. Later, a cybergeek friend of Chloe's tries to blow up Smallville because he's sick and tired of all the freak-of-the-weeks running around town. Apparently he tries to use one of the 15 or so nuclear missiles located in Smallville, Kan. And how did we find out about those little buggers? Because Jonathan told us, in a clumsy bit of exposition with Detective Frau Far read more
