Exclusive: Heroes Alumna Befriends an Army Wife

Tawny Cypress by Mark Sullivan/ WireImage.com, Brigid Brannagh in Army Wives courtesy Lifetime Television

Thanks to her increasingly popular radio show on the post, Army Wife Pamela (Brigid Brannagh) is about to get just a little bit famous. And helping her get there will be a local newspaper reporter played by Tawny Cypress.Cypress, who last was seen getting accidentally (and fatally) shot by her artist-beau, Isaac, on NBC's Heroes, has been booked for a multi-episode Army Wives arc (kicking off Aug. 3) as a journo who gives Pamela some ink. In working on the story, the two ladies form a "close friendship," I am told. Now, being a guy, I did the whole raised-eyebrow, "Close friendship, eh?" thing, but the Lifetime rep assures me that no, we're not going there. Killed-off Heroes Star Maintains a "Super" Attitude

Tawny Cypress, Heroes

If a girl's gotta go, this is the way to do it. The Feb. 19 episode of NBC's Heroes (Mondays at 9 pm/ET) ended with the accidental shooting of Simone Deveaux, played by Tawny Cypress. The sexy art dealer died cradled by her two heartthrob boyfriends, Isaac (Santiago Cabrera), who fired the fatal shot, and Peter (Milo Ventimiglia). A surprisingly chipper Cypress called to give TVGuide.com the lowdown on her outta-nowhere demise.  TVGuide.com: Condolences, babe. How long have you known about this?Tawny Cypress: Since mid-December. [Heroes creator/executive producer] Tim Kring called me per read more

Swan Gooses Docs!

Before The Swan hacks away at another ugly duckling's beak (Monday at 9 pm/ET on Fox), let's give it up for Tawnya C.. Sure, the 40-year-old mother of two volunteered to be putty in the hands of a bunch of plastic surgeons she had never met. But, rather than let the docs go mad on her mug, she took a pass on a nose job and face-lift — in the process losing herself a spot in the reality hit's upcoming pageant for extreme-makeover recipients. Is she nuts... or merely crazy like the fox she now is (and, if you ask us, was to begin with)? TV Guide Online rang up the divorcée at home in Denver for a little post-op chitchat. TV Guide Online: During the show, you remarked that you wanted to be a different person. Who did you want to be?Tawnya C.: I wanted to be the person that I was about 10 years ago [before my brother's death, the breakup of my marriage and my joining the ranks of the unemployed]... the person who was more happy-go-lucky, not read more
