Ryan O'Neal Hit on Daughter By Mistake at Fawcett's Funeral

Ryan O'Neal said he would "take back" having some of his children and admitted to hitting on his own daughter at Farrah Fawcett's funeral.

In the interview, featured in the September issue of Vanity Fair, O'Neal explained how he didn't recognize his daughter, Rescue Me's Tatum O'Neal, and even asked her out.

"I had just put the casket in the hearse and was watching it drive away, when a beautiful blond woman comes up and embraces me," O'Neal said. "I said to her, 'You have a drink on you? You have a car?' She said, 'Daddy, it's me — Tatum!'

"I was just trying to be funny with a strange Swedish woman, and it's my daughter," O'Neal said. "It's so sick."

Tatum O'Neal "Sorry" to Hear About Ryan's, Redmond's Drug Arrests

Tatum O'Neal is "sorry" to hear about the recent arrests of her father and half-brother for drug possession, her rep told TVGuide.com."Addiction, if untreated, can lead to jail, institutions and death," the actress said in a statement. "I love them both and I am sorry to hear about this."Ryan O'Neal, 67, and Redmond O'Neal, 23, were arrested Wednesday morning at their Malibu home after authorities discovered what they believed to be methamphetamines in the elder O'Neal's bedroom. The actor's lawyer claims the drugs do not belong to Ryan O'Neal.The men have both since been released on $10,000 bail each.Tatum, who has a long history of drug abuse, was arrested in June for attempting to purchase cocaine and has since pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct. — Joyce Engread more

Tatum O'Neal Speaks Out on Ryan's, Redmond's Arrests

Tatum O'Neal expressed concern for her father and half-brother, Ryan and Redmond O'Neal, after the two were arrested Wednesday on suspicion of drug possession. "I'm really worried about Redmond," the actress told People. "I want them both to get better and get the help they need — especially my brother.""[Addiction] runs in families. It's a disease," Tatum continued. "I'm praying for both of them. I'm praying for my whole family. I hope Red will get treatment. That's what he needs. There is hope for Redmond."The O'Neal men were arrested after authorities made routine sweeps through the house to enforce Redmond's parole. They were later released on $10,000 bail each. Redmond, 23, had pleaded guilty to drug possession and one misdemeanor DUI charge in June, which came after a 2004 rehab stint for heroin addiction.Tatum was herself arrested in June for allegedly attempting to purchase cocaine. O'Neal Pleads Guilty to Disorderly Conduct Charges

Actress Tatum O'Neal pleaded guilty Wednesday to disorderly conduct charges in connection with her cocaine possession arrest earlier this month.The AP reports the judge ruled O'Neal, 44, must attend two half-day sessions in a drug treatment program and pay a $95 surcharge.O'Neal, who has publicly described her struggles with drugs over the years, was busted by cops near her Manhattan home. Exclusive: Rescue Me Wants Tatum O'Neal Back

Despite her recent skirmish with the law, Tatum O'Neal is expected back at work at FX's Rescue Me the next instance she is needed. "We want to bring her back, and I haven't heard anything about why she wouldn't be available to us," series cocreator Peter Tolan told me during a sitdown to promote the indie Finding Amanda, which he wrote and directed. "It's a misdemeanor, so she's not going to do time, and nobody has said to us we can't insure her or anything like that. So I'm assuming she's available to us and it's 'business as usual.'"O'Neal's publicist confirms that she is back at the grindstone, ready for more Rescue Me as well as promoting the Lifetime movie Fab Five: The Texas Cheerleader Scandal. Tatum O'Neal Busted for Coke

Rescue Me actress and Oscar-winner Tatum O'Neal (Paper Moon) was busted Sunday night for allegedly buying coke near her Manhattan home. The 44-year old actress, who was publically open about her battle with addiction in the memoir A Paper Life, initially told the police doing drug sweeps in the area that she was researching a role as a junkie. But after finding two dime bags and an unused crack pipe on her, O'Neal admitted that this was her first relapse prompted by the death of her 16-year-old Scottish Terrier. read more
