Tarah Nutter

Set in Salt Lake City, this bittersweet romantic tale centers on civil servant Charles (John Heard) and his obsession with winning back the love of his life, Laura (Mary Beth Hurt), who left him to return to her unappreciative husband, Ox (Mark Metcalf). To find out whether Laura is really happy with Ox, Charles takes to following her around and befriends her co-worker (Nora Heflin). Peter Riegert, Gloria Grahame and Griffin Dunne co-star.
