This stylish satire on modern mores stars Pierre Clémenti as Lallo, a shallow Italian youth who journeys to Milan to attend his father's funeral and there decides to follow in his footsteps by becoming a gigolo to vapid socialites. Lallo bounces from one wealthy woman's bed to another until his heart is broken by a girl his own age, lovely Sveva (Martine Malle), and he takes the advice of a fellow adventurer to find a different type of patron.

As the two couples check into the hotel, disaster looms just beyond the bend in a series of hilarious mishaps that will test both Michael's faithfulness and Dr. Fassbinder's sanity.
