Rambo: First Blood, Part II courtesy of Carolco Pictures and Lionsgate Home Entertainment
Last weekend Rambo opened in theaters, and as I write this the film has now earned an estimated $25 million at the box office, putting it among the Top 5 money-making movies of the (very short) year so far. There was a lot of doubt that audiences would still have an appetite for Sylvester Stallone's hard-to-stop soldier, but this fourth and final film appears to have struck the same good chord as 2006's Rocky Balboa did: it offers a good way to wrap up the story of a beloved cinema character from a couple-three decades ago, taking into account the fact that both the character and actor have aged, but hopefully blurring the memory of the previous "final" films - both turkeys - that otherwise would have wrapped up those two movie series. All the previous Rocky and Rambo films have long been available on DVD, of course, and Rocky Balboa has since come out on DVD - and Blu-ray Disc - as well. When Rocky Balboa opened in theaters in December 2006, the high definition world was still prett...

Sly Stallone is in talks to direct and star in an MGM remake of 1974's Death Wish, Variety reports.... Jessica Biel is a small-town receptionist who has wild sexual urges unleashed when she is errantly shot in the head with a nail gun in Nailed. Jake Gyllenhaal plays a congressman who takes advantage of her sex drive (well, yeah) and her crusade on behalf of the bizarrely injured.... Also per the Reporter, Hayden Christensen is the rookie attorney who defended Japanese general Masaharu Homma in the true-story-based Beast of Bataan.

Question I just saw Rocky Balboa and liked it but do you have any idea why Adrian was written out of the cast of characters Did Talia Shire not want to do it DanielFlickChick In interviews Sylvester Stallone has said that in the first drafts of the Rocky Balboa screenplay Adrian was still alive but died later in the story But at some point he decided that it was more dramatic to start out with Rocky sleepwalking through life because hes so devastated by having lost the love of his life The only quote attributed to Talia Shire Ive run across has a rather evasive ring to it she never addresses whether or not anyone ever spoke to her about the possibility of being in the film and she certainly doesnt say she turned the part down But there are pictures online of Shire attending the Los Angeles premiere which suggests to me that if she had been angry or disappointed shes over it now Question About two years ago I read on TVGuidecom that Ellen DeGeneres would

Can we all just close our eyes and pretend that Rocky V never happened? Because if ever there were a franchise-finisher to be remembered for staging the Italian Stallion's final bout, Rocky Balboa, due out Dec. 20, portends to be it. Having grown up with this film series, I cheered and I cried at a press screening last week, as the famed palooka-turned-pugilist entered the ring just one more, most memorable time. The Oscar-winning Rocky and its first follow-up were seminal films, even coining the term "a Rocky story" to sum up the tale of an underdog (in this case, a loan shark's sad-sack collection man) who overcomes the odds to achieve greatness a bid for both true love and the title. Rocky III, with the arrival of Mr. T's Clubber Lang, found Rocko facing his fiercest opponent yet as Burgess Meredith's Mickey reveals (in his raspy growl) that previous comers "wuz hand-picked!" and then dealing with the loss of the trainer he for so long held dear. Rocky IV, an ...

By popular demand (152 e-mails and counting), here's the complete transcript of my interview with Milo Ventimiglia, conducted last Friday during a preplanned meet-and-greet at TV Guide's Gotham headquarters. Juicy, scoopy bits abound particularly the stuff about Lauren Graham's Gilmore Girls contract that you just know I'll be asking her about tomorrow if, er, when she lands her first Emmy nomination! Ausiello: Inquiring minds (read: TVGuide.com readers) must know: Are you single?Milo: Yeah.Ausiello: How's single life treating you?Milo: [Chuckles] That's about all you'll get out of me.Ausiello: Any chance of you going back to Gilmore Girls?Milo: Never gonna happen.Ausiello: Because the Palladinos are gone?Milo: Yup.Ausiello: But what if the new show-runner, Dave Rosenthal, asks you? He might be a fan of yours.Milo: I appreciate that, but I'm pretty busy this year.Ausiello: So you feel that Jess' story is done?Milo: I felt that it was done a long time ago, but Dan and Amy kept...

Question: Why is the WB network launching its spring mid-season drama The Bedford Diaries when everybody knows it's probably going to flop DOA? Milo Ventimiglia is starring in this show, but he's also busy doing other things, like the Rocky VI movie with Sylvester Stallone and reprising his Jess character for one episode on Gilmore Girls (a month after The Bedford Diaries premieres, I might add). He also has been cast in a new NBC pilot for the next fall season. Why couldn't WB just forget about The Bedford Diaries or just drop Milo from the show since he's busy doing other projects?
Answer: The WB is at an odd — and to my mind unprecedented —crossroads this spring. It's about to disappear forever, but until then, it's going to plunge ahead, business as usual, which means airing some if not all of the mid-season shows the network has been sitting on all season (also including Pepper Dennis and a handful of sitcoms). The Bedford Diaries was produced, so WB is going to air it, regardless

Donald Faison, Scrubs
Tonight at 9 pm/ET, NBC's Scrubs presents its 100th episode, featuring — no, not the death of someone close to Clark Kent — a humorous homage to The Wizard of Oz. This week's second helping guest-stars Jason Bateman and a whole lotta angry ostriches. Is this show officially off the hook? TVGuide.com spoke with Donald Faison, aka Turk, about crafting Scrubs' weekly remedy for the prime-time blahs.
TVGuide.com: Donald Faison, pardon my French, but you are on one damn funny show.Donald Faison: Thanks, but where did you speak French in that?
TVGuide.com: Um, when I said "Faison"? So do you get that a lot, people telling you that Scrubs

Rex Linn on CSI: Miami
During CSI: Miami's holiday hiatus, Rex Linn has set aside Det. Frank Tripp's badge to tackle the role of party planner, as the die-hard Texas Longhorn fan prepares to host the pre-Rose Bowl gathering. (You think we're kidding, but we're not. We've talked to the guy — this thing is big.) Might some real-life lawmen need to break up the bash? TVGuide.com talked to Linn about his college-football loyalties, his fantastic deal on beef brisket and what the future holds for Miami's Frank.
TVGuide.com: So I'm looking at this picture your publicist sent me, of you coming out of a phone booth, all Superman-like, revealing a Longhorns T-shirt....
Rex Linn: Oh, yeah. [Laughs] That's an idea my

Question: Is Milo Ventimiglia (Jess) going to return to Gilmore Girls any time soon?
Answer: Let's ask Amy Sherman-Palladino: "I hope so. Milo is taking over the world. He's his own little conglomerate. He has more meetings than I ever had in my whole life. The boy does nothing but take meetings. So, we're just playing it by ear. The door has always been open to Milo and always will be because we just love him to death." I think a lot of it hinges on the success of his WB mid-season drama The Bedford Diaries, which I must get around to watching. THIS JUST IN: Milo has been cast as Sylvester Stallone's grown son in the upcoming sixth Rocky film. For more, click here.
