On the midseason finale of The Vampire Diaries, evil Original Klaus (Joseph Morgan) struck again, this time taking out Tyler's army of hybrids, but also more importantly, his mom.
"Klaus is a survivalist; when you betray him, you get beat down," Julie Plec told TVGuide.com. "When he feels backed up against a wall or mistreated or abused he lashes out in the most dramatic way possible."
Last season, the CW parlayed a successful book series into a television show that has become an obsession for many of us. As The Vampire Diaries Season 1 left off, Katherine (Nina Dobrev) finally showed up, and we watched Hottie McHotterson vamp Damon (Ian Sommerhalder) lay a big wet one on Elena. Turns out it was actually Katherine, Elena's doppelganger and evil vampire twin from the 19th century. And then there was the whole chopping-off of Uncle John's fingers (with the ring that protects him), the death of Mayor Lockwood after the device revealed him to be something of the supernatural sort (werewolf, perhaps?), and a car crash that left Caroline's life hanging in the balance. Next up, she's the foster mom to a teenage female hellspawn in Fox's new nighttime spook-sudser, Point Pleasant, debuting Jan. 20. Here, the 41-year-old Walters — who's the real-life wife of Melrose Place and Y&R alum Linden Ashby — dishes her fabulously soapy career.TV Guide Online: With apologies to Alex Donnelley, who originated the Y&R role back in 1982, your Diane was more... youthful. Isn't it odd when soaps recast roles with younger actors? It's like a time warp!Susan Walters: [Chuckles] People on the show were very complimentary to me. We'll just leave it at that. I think the other actress felt I was cast on my similarity to how she
