Sugarland returned to Indianapolis to perform a free concert honoring the victims of a stage collapse at the Indiana State Fair this summer.

Seven people were killed in August when an outdoor stage collapsed just minutes before the band was set to perform.

"It may be an emotional show tonight, but it will also be a celebratory show tonight," singer Jennifer Nettles told the audience. "We are all changed by what happened then. But we are going to try to give you the best show that we can and to celebrate healing with you and to celebrate life and music with you here tonight."

Five Dead in Stage Collapse at Sugarland State Fair Show

Five people were killed and at least 40 were injured as an outdoor stage collapsed at the Indiana State Fair minutes before Sugarland was to perform, Reuters reports.

When designer Nate Berkus was given his own daily syndicated talk show, his director told him he had two choices for the set: "It could either look like a night club or it could look like a fake house with stairs that lead to nothing," the director said.

Berkus said no to both.
