Charlie Sheen has officially thrown his name into the hat to be considered for one of the vacant judges' chairs on American Idol, telling host Ryan Seacrest that he'd be "genuinely interested" in the job.

Calling in to Seacrest's radio show Tuesday, Sheen responded to reports that Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe had mentioned him as a possible replacement for departing judges Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez.
