Ben Sits Down With infoMania's 2010 Man of the Year: Steven Slater

Steven Slater provided a vicarious thrill for every fed-up office drone this year when the Jet Blue flight attendant commandeered the plane's intercom, dropped an F-bomb on an annoying passenger, publicly quit his job, grabbed two beers and hopped down the emergency slide onto the tarmac. Did he ever dream that yellow inflatable slide would deliver him all the way to the coveted honor of infoMania's 2010 Man of the Year? Of course not; no mortal can dream that big. Our own Ben Hoffman gets Slater to relive his star-making moment and the media explosion that ensued, though he dodges Ben's hard-hitting question about the 'biggest turd' he ever found in an airplane lavatory.

Change Is Good For You: infoMania on Idol, Regis, Oprah & Piers

New host Brett Erlich takes the remodeled infoMania out for a spin for the very first time, so please keep your hands and feet inside the virtual vehicle until the comedy has come to a complete stop. He starts with what we humbly call 'The Week in Everything.' And that's just what it is, from J-Lo and Steven Tyler (S-Ty?) sliding into the judges' chairs on 'American Idol,' to Kelly Ripa's creepily suggestive offer to keep Regis Philbin from retiring, to Piers Morgan 'grilling' Oprah on the premiere of his new CNN talk show.

Picture the ultimate office water-cooler, only with funnier co-workers who willingly stay up late imbibing all forms of media so you don't have to. Caveat: Bring your own water. A 1950s View Of American Idol

Our crack stage crew bought an old black-and-white TV at a garage sale to decorate infoMania's new set. Imagine our surprise when the decades-old set sputtered to life to reveal Mr. TV, a visitor from the medium's Golden Age. (Full disclosure: Mr. TV bears a strong resemblance to infoMania's own Sergio Cilli.) This week Brett and Mr. TV talk 'American Idol,' which Mr. TV first believes is an ode to teen icon Troy Donahue. (Ask your grandparents.) Mr. TV does cotton to new judges Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler, though the Aerosmith lead singer doesn't look like any of the fellas he knows down at the lodge.
