Fans of CBS's The Young and the Restless know that drama-prone socialite Nikki Newman — played by Melody Thomas Scott — was impregnated by a creepy cult leader many years ago and gave birth to a son. Nuns put the baby up for adoption and Nikki only recently learned that the child has grown up to become stressed-out war vet Dylan McAvoy (Steve Burton), who arrived in Genoa City this year after a stint in Afghanistan. She has yet to tell him he's her spawn. TV Guide Magazine spoke with Thomas Scott about the big, volcanic reveal, coming Nov. 22. It's a doozy!

On Jan. 29, Emmy winner Steve Burton — who previously worked under Phelps when he played hit man Jason Morgan on General Hospital — will join Y&R as Dylan McAvoy, the presumed-dead ex-lover of lawyer Avery Clark (Jessica Collins). It's no secret in the suds world that Burton and Phelps are thick as thieves. In fact, they're currently teamed with actor James Franco on a telenovela in development at Sony.
