On the Set: Arrow's Stunt Coordinator Teaches Us How to Fight Like Oliver Queen

Being a superhero isn't easy.

And we don't mean the moral quandaries they face. We mean the grueling, physical exhaustion that comes with kicking butt on a daily basis.

To get a feel for exactly how tough the life of a superhero is, TVGuide.com visited the Vancouver set of CW's Arrow, where stunt coordinator James Bamford showed us a few moves.

Question: The mid-season finale of Arrow certainly got the fans talking, but it was Stephen Amell's tweet of "It was a good run" that sent the fandom into a tizzy with speculation of his and the character of Oliver Queen/Arrow leaving the series. Amell further fanned the flames when he took to Facebook noting that Arrow was more then just about Oliver Queen. And the executive producer stated this episode would change the series. All of this feels like blatant fan manipulation beyond normal entertainment standards. I'm in serious doubt that we saw Oliver "die," and feel it is all part of the next evolution of his experiences as The Arrow, but it did get me to wonder, can a show like Arrow continue to be successful, even on a smaller network like The CW, should the decision be made to kill off the main character? You've already fielded questions about the "Laurel Lance/Black Canary problem," and there are many out there who feel she is the weakest link when it comes to the Arrow narrative, but there are some strong supporting characters in Arrow's cast. That being said, we've spent the last three years invested in the story of Oliver Queen as Arrow. What are your thoughts on a situation such as this? — Chris

On the Set: The Flash and Arrow Face Off In an Epic Superhero Crossover

If you hadn't noticed, comic books are no laughing matter on TV these days. AMC's The Walking Dead is TV's top-rated show; Fox's Batman prequel, Gotham, is a bona fide freshman hit; Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is a solid performer for ABC; and CBS is eyeing a Supergirl series to call its own. When it comes to heat, well-drawn heroes would seem to have it.

What can you tell me about the Castle wedding? I can't wait! — Jenna
Owing to the complex story that precedes the nuptials — Castle experiences an alternate reality in which he's never met Beckett — the ceremony itself had to be scaled back considerably. "We came very close to doing the other version of the big wedding... and all the hoopla that's associated with that, and we knew that we didn't want to do quite the same thing," executive producer David Amann tells us. However, don't think that Castle's rush to the altar will scare Beckett — or make the moment any less magical. "[Beckett] doesn't necessarily know quite what has driven him to this point, but she's emotionally right there with him," Amann says. "It's a wonderful, wonderful moment, and we hope the fans share that view."
