RSVP for Gossip Girl's Finale Wedding! | TV Show Previews | 5/18/2008
Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today for the wedding of Gossip Girl's (8 pm/ET, the CW) Lily van der Woodsen (Kelly Rutherford) and Bart Bass (Robert John Burke). And if you've been following this addictive Upper East Side story, you know the nups will be as OMG-inducing as the rest of the teen drama's freshman season. "The wedding does happen," assures exec producer Stephanie Savage. "Just not without complications." Or glamour: The bride is wearing Vera Wang, the cake is from New York's baker extraordinaire Sylvia Weinstock and real-life socialite Lydia Hearst is on the episode's guest list. But what of our favorite tortured teens? "It's a very emotional episode," Savage says. "There are makeups and breakups for the major couples." CW at TCA: Sophomore Success? | Roush Dispatch | 7/20/2007
It took a year, but the CW (the network cobbled together from the ashes of the WB and UPN) is finally starting to look like a real network, albeit one aggressively and obsessively focused on the 18-34 youth market. Which no doubt is causing more than a few existential crises among those longtime vets of the TCA press tour who said goodbye to that demo a while ago.Dawn Ostroff, the networks relentlessly perky entertainment president, took a no regrets approach to her upbeat presentation Friday morning.
