What the American Idol Judges Could Learn from America's Next Great Restaurant

Many TV critics have already harped on the American Idol judges this season. Their refrain: J.Lo, Steven and Randy are nothing more than paid cheerleaders, incapable of criticism. It was truly a bizarre evening on American Idol that featured the shirtless antics of Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Iggy Pop — who dropped the S-bomb and pumped the microphone from his crotch, both of which were censored... read more

Top Moments: Office Romance Turns On the Waterworks and Idol's Big save

Our top moments of the week:

13. Best Day of the Week:
Hard to believe, but Rebecca Black's ubiquitous "Friday" is a rip-off of another song — or so Conan O'Brien claims. In his Conan video blog, the funnyman reveals that he did a music video a few weeks ago called "Thursday" that is vaguely similar to Black's "Friday" clip, with shout-outs to cereal (Cap'n Crunch) and driving in cars (his beloved 1992 Ford Taurus). Not to be outdone, Coco manages to squeeze in his own ... read more

American Idol Episode Recap: The Top 12 Perform

American Idol's Top 12 take on one of the show's longest-running themes: songs from their birth year. Despite a flu bug hitting the Idol mansion, many of the contestants took the judges' complaints from last week to heart and kicked up the energy a few notches. However, for every good performance and exciting song choice, there were still plenty of snooze-worthy moments.

So which sick singer caved under the pressure and which finalist fought the flu and rose to the occasion? Let's break down the performances:

Naima Adedapo, "What's Love Got to Do With It"
The beginning feels a little karaoke-y and almost as if she is speaking instead of singing, but it's the... read more
