After years of patiently waiting, Third Watch has finally entered the DVD universe! In celebration of this week’s first-season release, I stole some time with Officer Ty Davis himself, Coby Bell, to talk about shooting the show, cracking up his on-screen sidekick and what took so damn long!According to my research, you were the only actor on the show who appeared in every episode. Oh wow. Was I? [Laughs] I didn’t know that.Says you also did really well on a Third Watch edition of The Weakest Link? I do remember that. And I surprised myself. [Laughs] It was members of the cast and [series creator] Ed Bernero did it, too. I kept looking over at my wife and was just pulling these answers out of my ass. Annie Potts, Fred Thompson and Judith Light guest-star--When Lauren Westley (guest-star Keri Lynn Pratt) is found badly beaten and taken to a New York hospital, it is discovered she's a runaway from Virginia whose father Philip Westley (guest-star Skipp Sudduth) has been in the city searching for her. Detectives discover that Westley was 24 weeks pregnant and due to her injuries, suffered a miscarriage. As the investigation unfolds Detectives Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Stabler (Chris Meloni) question Wayne Meredith (guest-star John Patrick Medori) a teenager from Westley's high school who is the father of the baby. Westley and Meredith ran away to New York seeking the help from an abortion clinic. When the case goes to court, Meredith's attorney, Sophie Devere, (guest-star Annie Potts) tries to defend Meredith's actions but new evidence is introduced questioning the credibility of the abortion clinic and whether the doctor there was ultimately responsible for West's injuries.
