Although much of ABC's Private Practice is serious and somber, star KaDee Strickland says there are tons of levity to come on-screen — and that the cast has plenty of fun off-screen.
"The beauty of what Shonda [Rhimes] creates for us over at Private Practice is that for every terrible thing that happens, somehow we rise," Strickland says.
Following Charlotte's sexual assault and the gruesome aftermath, this week's episode will mark the beginning of her road to recovery on Private Practice. She may act like the same strong woman she's always been, but healing will not be easy.
On the Set: Private Practice prepares for the aftermath of Charlotte's attack
"Those bruises may go away, casts may come off, the hair may become curled again — all of those outer things may change and may appear normal, but within her there is a whole other life happening," KaDee Strickland tells TVGuide.com. The 34-year-old actress also discusses how Charlotte will move forward from the trauma, and what's ahead for her relationships...

Off the Map
"Grey's in the jungle!" That's the nickname the actors on ABC's new medical drama Off the Map have given their series, which will likely premiere in early 2011. But the producers, including Shonda Rhimes (who also created Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice), prefer to think of their new bush baby as "Indiana Jones with scalpels." And after getting down and dirty with the sweaty cast in Hawaii earlier this month, I can see why.

"Did You Hear What Happened to Charlotte King?"
That's the title of the Nov. 4 sweeps episode of Private Practice, and trust us, everyone will hear about what happened to Charlotte King (KaDee Strickland).
The sweet-yet-hardened Charlotte will be faced with her most difficult obstacle yet when she becomes the victim of a violent sexual attack in the closing moments of the Oct. 28 episode. Her attacker: A mentally unstable man (played by Buffy alum Nicholas Brendon) who walks into the ER.

Inside Meredith and Derek's bedroom on the Grey's Anatomy set, a very naughty Patrick Dempsey climbs on top of his costar and friend of six-plus years, Ellen Pompeo, and admonishes there is to be "no thrusting." Joking that he's been "doing steroids" over his summer break, the pumped-up star plants one on Pompeo's lips before making an accusation that catches his leading lady off guard: "Did you just have a jelly doughnut?"
The lighthearted high jinks are welcome on a set that has been plagued with discontent for far too long...
Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey
After a miscarriage, a near fatal gunshot wound and other heart-stopping moments in the Season 6 finale of Grey's Anatomy, it stands to reason that Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Derek (Patrick Dempsey) may be journeying uphill in their relationship when the medical drama returns.
Grey's Anatomy: Find out who's walking down the aisle
When we catch up with the doctors of Seattle Grace, the series has jumped ahead in time. However, Meredith hasn't clued Derek in on her miscarriage in the aftermath of the shooting rampage at the hospital.
"I know she's been avoiding telling Derek about that miscarriage, but...
