The question is, according to Heigl, will they have her back? "I've told them I want to," Heigl told E! Online. "Being a showrunner and being a writer of a TV series like that is so complicated ... how many characters are there now? There's a lot and so... read more

Mega Buzz: A CSI Goodbye, Claire's Modern Politics and an NCIS Triangle

Marg Helgenberger, Julie Bowen, Cote de Pablo

Every week, editors Adam Bryant and Natalie Abrams satisfy your need for TV scoop. Please send all questions to mega_scoop@tvguide.com.

I am so sad to see Marg Helgenberger leave CSI. What can you say about Catherine's exit? — DeAnne
ADAM:
I'd say it'll be pretty poetic, if you read between the lines — and I know you all do! While Catherine is working with the FBI on a case involving an old friend (guest star Annabeth Gish), she'll start to realize her value. "These FBI agents shine a mirror on how good she is at what she does," executive producer Carol Mendelsohn says. "I think Catherine is looking at the next job. As a woman, Catherine feels she's hit a glass ceiling at CSI. It's something that's been weighing on her, and she sees a door to a new life." But she could presumably come back to consult, right? "It's not a 'for always' goodbye," executive producer Don McGill says. "There's always an open door."

Grey's Anatomy Scoop: MerDer Happiness, a Cristina-Owen Explosion and the Alt-Reality

Ellen Pompeo, Patrcik Dempsey

After two months off the air and the sad death of Teddy's husband, the spring episodes of Grey's Anatomy promise happier times, especially now that Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Derek (Patrick Dempsey) finally got custody of baby Zola. We'll even see a not "dark and twisty" Meredith in the special alternate-reality episode. But it's not all bright and shiny: TVGuide.com sat down with executive producer Shonda Rhimes, who told us that Cristina (Sandra Oh), for one, is heading toward dark times. And what's this about George and Izzie returning? read more

I hear there's going to be a kiss in Castle's 1940s film noir episode. Is that true? — Erin
ADAM:
After chatting with Stana Katic, my money is on a kiss... and much, much more. "What fans will see is probably the fulfillment of what most any fan would like to see happen with the Castle and Beckett relationship," Katic says of the episode, in which Castle daydreams about a detective who falls in love with a gangster's moll (played in Castle's fantasy by Beckett, of course). "Fans will be seeing the ultimate expression of love for those two characters." Ultimate expression of love? Is that what the kids are calling it these days?
