Look out, planet Earth: Transformers 3 has a tentative arrival date of July 1, 2011.
But don't rush to pre-pre-order tickets just yet. While Paramount secured the release date as an option, it's not an official announcement of the movie's green light, studio insiders tell Variety. A writer has yet to be hired, and there's no word on whether director Michael Bay or stars Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox would return for the franchise's third installment.
In the meantime, fans can still count on mass robotic destruction this summer: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen opens June 24.

Instead, prosecutors are considering charging two other people in the accident."Shia is most happy that he will not have to go to court," Michael Norris, his attorney, said.The actor's's legal woes aren't completely over — he may have his license suspended following a Friday DMV hearing.
