The Castle wedding is (hopefully) drawing nigh, which means one thing: The battle to be the best man is on!
As you can see in the exclusive first look at Monday's episode (10/9c, ABC) below, Beckett (Stana Katic) has already chosen Lanie (Tamala Jones) to be her maid of honor. However, when Ryan (Seamus Dever) and Esposito (Jon Huertas) learn that Castle (Nathan Fillion) has yet to select a best man, you can see their competitive wheels start turning...

Jack is back! Please spoil the return of 24! — David
Although he's been on the lam for four years, Jack comes out of hiding to stop the assassination of the U.S. president in London. And as you might guess, he's promptly captured the minute he shows his face. But Jack's not that rusty. In fact, there's a very specific reason Jack allows himself to get caught — and it involves a familiar face. Unfortunately, Kate Morgan (Yvonne Strahovski), a Bauer-esque CIA operative looking to prove her worth, wastes little time standing in the way of the blessed reunion. Say it with me: Dammit!
Please tell me Cobie Smulders is going to stay on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. full-time! — Cara
The good news:
Castle makes a groovy return tonight when Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett (Stana Katic) take on a quirky case involving the newly discovered body of a missing mobster who was murdered in 1978. "A key witness in the investigation is stuck mentally in the '70s," Katic says, "so in order to find out vital information, we have to reenact the era."
Childbirth on TV shows rarely goes according to plan. For Castle's Kevin Ryan, there will be no exception.
On Monday's episode (10/9c, ABC), Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett (Stana Katic) investigate the murder of a victim found in ruins of a building fire. The team members learn soon enough that they're dealing with a serial arsonist, which is very bad news for Esposito (Jon Huertas) and Ryan (Seamus Dever), who end up trapped in a burning building just as Ryan's wife Jenny (Juliana Dever) goes into labor.
Exclusive Castle sneak peek: Esposito and Ryan put their feet to the fire
"We thought there would be high jinks with getting to the hospital and getting that phone call," Seamus Dever tells TVGuide.com with a laugh.
When ABC's Castle returns on Monday, Jan. 6, Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett (Stana Katic) find themselves under fire — literally.
