Duck Dynasty daughter Sadie Robertson got her Sweet 16 wish come true: a serenade from American Idol winner Scotty McCreery.
During the party, which featured a "redneck red carpet," McCreery sang a duet with the show's star Willie Robertson and even danced with the birthday girl, Us Weekly reports.
The winner of American Idol's 12th season won't be announced until May 16, but it seems as though, if it were up to the judges, one contestant would already be wearing the crown.
With the field narrowed to a fierce foursome — Candice Glover, Kree Harrison, Amber Holcomb and Angie Miller — who would all be deserving of a first-place finish, there's no telling who will be sent home along the way. But as the ladies prepare to duke it out over the next several weeks, the judges seem to be nudging one contestant ahead of the rest. And that would be Amber Holcomb.
Before American Idol's results show Thursday, the question on everyone's minds was whether Lazaro Arbos would survive another week or whether the show would have its first-ever all-female Top 5 heading into the final weeks.
There's more tearful soul-searching than singing in Fox's Glee (Thursday, 8/7c) as the show tackles an issue that couldn't be more timely and topical, on Capitol Hill and in any community that worries about its children's safety in the wake of recent (and not-so-recent) tragedies. The episode is titled "Shooting Star," which should give you an indication of just what triggers such intense emotional anxiety in the halls of McKinley High. Some would argue that the way the story ultimately plays out trivializes the issue, and maybe they're right, but as unpleasant realities seep into what is usually a musical-comedy fantasy, the glee club won't be the only ones left shaken and perhaps even a little more awakened.
To watch or not to watch? That is the question TVGuide.com examines as Idol enters the twilight of its tween years:
Nashville, the city, and Nashville, the country music industry, are expecting big things from Nashville, the new fall drama from ABC. The serialized drama, which stars Connie Britton as an country singer juggling her home life and struggling to remain a relevant artist, might not have made it on the air a few years ago.
But just as country music is moving toward the mainstream, the mainstream is gravitating toward country music — and TV execs, hungry for audiences, are eager to tap into country's loyal fan base. "We know from our proprietary research that about 96 million Americans qualify as country music fans, based on their listening habits and purchase behavior," says Country Music Association marketing director Cory Chapman. "That leads to a big opportunity for a network to go after that audience."
