Cheers to Jon Stewart for conducting the best interview yet with Scott McClellan. Bush's ex-press secretary has been everywhere promoting his book What Happened ("he even pushed it on Deadliest Catch," quipped Stewart's cohort Stephen Colbert). But the Daily Show wiseguy didn't just rehash McClellan's charges and the White House's countercharges. He asked McClellan to analyze the administration's campaign against him ("how would you destroy you?") and pressed his guest to disprove that "the entire presidency was a facade of public manipulation." Oh, and Stewart was funny, too getting B-52's frontman Fred Schneider to read passages from the book a la "Love Shack" and using dolls to reenact Bush's now-infamous comment that he and McClellan would end up on rocking chairs in Texas someday ("how close are you sitting, and where's Cheney with the gun?").
