The Walking Dead Announces Season 5 Premiere, Releases New Trailer

AMC has set the fifth season premiere date for The Walking Dead.

Robert Kirkman's zombie drama will return for it is fifth season on Sunday, Oct. 12 at 9/8c, it was announced at Comic-Con on Friday.

The fifth season will pick up with the group still at Terminus, though the producers still would not confirm that the Termites are the ruthless cannibals of the comics. But it won't be long before we find out! "We're going to see the story of Terminus," Kirkman told the crowd. "We're going to see how it happened."

However, the new trailer for Season 5 seemed to hint towards them being cannibals, with our group of heroes being lined up for the slaughter before Bob (Lawrence Gilliard Jr.) convinces Gareth (Andrew J. West) that they need to go to Washington, D.C. so Eugene (Josh McDermitt) can provide the right people with the cure. On the plus side, Beth (Emily Kinney) was not on that BBQ! Sadly, she seems to be in a juvenile correction center with a very violent corrections officer.

[WARNING: This story contains major spoilers from Sunday's The Walking Dead season finale. Read at your own risk!]

The survivors of The Walking Dead have found themselves in yet another perilous position.

During Sunday's season finale, Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and his small group made their way to Terminus, a community that promised safety for all those who arrived. Once the group learned just how much of a lie that was, they quickly tried to make a run for it. But they ended up being forced by Terminus leader Gareth (Andrew J. West)  into a train car, where they were reunited with Glenn (Steven Yeun), Maggie (Lauren Cohan), Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) and Bob (Lawrence Gilliard Jr.). Suffice it to say, Gareth and the people of Terminus are not allies.

On the Set: The Walking Dead's Dangerous New World

To say it's been a rough zombie apocalypse for The Walking Dead's Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) would be like saying the polar vortex is making things a little chilly. The Walking Dead: Is The Governor Going to Die?

[Warning: This story contains major spoilers from Sunday's episode of The Walking Dead and the comics that the AMC series is based on. Read at your own risk.]

The Walking Dead may have already tipped its hand.

The return of The Governor (David Morrissey) has brought the group full circle to the events of last season: Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and his group are severely weakened and the dastardly former leader of Woodbury has come knocking at their door. But where The Governor's assault on the prison last season was subpar to the comics, this time around, the comics could actually be driving the storyline much closer than some eagle-eyed viewers may have realized... read more
