Parenthood's Monica Potter on New Baby Braverman: You'll See a Crack in Kristina's Armor

Craig T. Nelson, Bonnie Bedelia, Monica Potter, Peter Krause

If you're still drying your eyes after last week's emotional goodbye between Kristina (Monica Potter) and Alex (Michael B. Jordan) on Parenthood, you're not alone. Just don't even think about putting the tissues away yet.

"I had no idea that this scene would move people. Michael and I just did it and it was like, 'OK, that was good.' But I came in last week and our crew members were talking about that scene," Potter tells TVGuide.com. "I thought, 'Wow that's pretty incredible that people are having this strong of a reaction. Which is great — it was very moving and touching to me.'" However, just as Kristina and the Bravermans say goodbye to one (almost) member of the family, they will welcome a new arrival with the birth of their baby in Tuesday's episode, titled "Nora," airing at 10/9c on NBC. Potter talked with TVGuide.com about Kristina's surprising delivery room partner, the art of pretending to give birth (hint: it involves grape jelly and cream cheese!) and the high emotions ahead for Kristina that come with this new bundle of joy... read more

Parenthood Season 3: "Heartbreaking" Baby Drama Ahead for the Bravermans

Parenthood

Brace yourself, Parenthood fans. The Braverman clan is about to expand. Twice.

In the second season finale, Julia (Erika Christensen) and Joel (Sam Jaeger) set their sights on adoption just as Kristina (Monica Potter) and Adam (Peter Krause) got the surprising news about baby No. 3.

The two new additions are certainly cause for celebration, but after Julia and Joel tried unsuccessfully for months to have a child of their own, Kristina's unplanned pregnancy will be a tough pill to swallow.

NBC Upfronts red carpet scoop: Will Parenthood do a time jump?

"Adoption can be quite a process, and then at the same time, Kristina having gotten pregnant, that's heartbreaking for me to think about Julia finding out... read more

Keck's Exclusives: Friday Night Lights' Quarterback to Romance Parenthood Daughter

Michael B. Jordan

Peter Krause's Parenthood daughter, Haddie Braverman (played by Sarah Ramos), is about to score a touchdown with one of the football players from Friday Night Lights. Michael B. Jordan, who played troubled East Dillon High quarterback Vince Howard, who Coach Taylor (Kyle Chandler) took under his wing in Season 4, has signed on as the new love interest of the rebellious Braverman teen... read more

Pilot News: Krause, Tierney and Nelson Try Parenthood

Peter Krause, Maura Tierney, Craig T. Nelson

Peter Krause's latest role is neither dirty nor inherently sexy. Instead, he has been cast as Adam Braverman — aka what we are calling "the Steve Martin role" — in NBC's Parenthood pilot based on the 1989 movie. Sarah Ramos (American Dreams) will play Krause's TV daughter, who actually was a son on the big screen. Yeah, this project is sounding more and more like "inspired by" than "based on."

Also on board for Friday Night Lights creator Jason Katims' adaptation of the film is ER fave Maura Tierney ... read more

October 24, 2006: Don't Kill the Messenger, But.....

Sorry for the lateness, but I realized I should probably make a post concerning the recent news: if you haven’t heard yet, the CW cancelled Runaway last week. Even more disappointing, although there’s a handful of episodes left that haven’t been aired, they’ve chosen to just shelve them and air America’s Next Top Model in the timeslot instead.I was really starting to get hooked on this show and I’ll miss Runaway: it was a surprisingly effective mix of serialized thriller and family drama, and pulling off just one of those on a regular basis is tough enough. I won’t try to second-guess whether or not pulling the plug was justified (the ratings were pretty dismal), but I still think it’s a shame that it couldn’t be afforded more time for an audience build. Maybe in today’s overstuffed marketplace if you can’t start strong right from the beginning it’s already too late. It’s possible that the remaining episodes might be... read more

October 12, 2006: On the Run

I realize it’s not the most important thing to mention at the beginning of my first blog for Runaway, but seriously, Donnie Wahlberg is playing the middle-aged dad who’s described in the police bulletin as “gray-haired?” I wasn’t exactly a New Kids on the Block fan back in the day, but I can clearly remember a time when he was a teen idol encouraging kids to “Hang Tough” and inspiring them that they had the “Right Stuff.” Jeez, I feel old.Although I know it’s a bit late, I really liked the premiere episode of Runaway, and I’m most impressed by the fact that it’s got three or four compelling storylines already. It’s really two genres merged into one: for the dad it’s a conspiracy thriller as he tries to unravel the mystery of who killed his former colleague and framed him and what secrets the murderers are protecting; for everyone else, it’s another “moving to a small town and reconnecting with each ot... read more
