  • I have been a huge fan of ... | Matt Roush | 10/12/2007
Question: I have been a huge fan of Friday Night Lights since you introduced me to it. It is absolutely the best show out there right now, and I loved the season premiere. All my favorite characters were back with their original depth and authenticity. I am interested to see where the new storylines go, especially with Tyra and Landry. But I did have to remind myself that this is dramatic television and not real life after that scene (you know the one), because it provoked some anxiety for me.... read more be the first to leave a comment

  • Globes-Trotting: Following the Buzz | Matt Roush | 12/14/2006
The best thing you can say about the Golden Globes nominations is that the Hollywood Foreign Press Association isn't afraid about welcoming new kids to the party, especially if they've made a little noise along the way.On the plus side, that means shining some love on deserving candidates like America Ferrera and Ugly Betty, a show and a performance that would seem tailor-made to the Foreign Press's presumed concerns about diversity in entertainment. Likewise Masi Oka, who gives one of the most... read more be the first to leave a comment
  • With the fall season coming ... | Matt Roush | 12/11/2006
Question: With the fall season coming to a close and the Golden Globes just around the corner, I figured I'd ask what the chances are that Studio 60 will get some nominations? Even if ratings aren't great, the critics still seem to enjoy it, and I think Matthew Perry, Bradley Whitford, Sarah Paulson and Amanda Peet all deserve consideration. Do you think the show will earn any nods? Answer: Truly, there's no figuring out the Golden Globes process, but in Studio 60's favor is its pedigree,... read more be the first to leave a comment
  • What is all the hubbub about ... | Matt Roush | 11/17/2006
Question: What is all the hubbub about Harriet on Studio 60 bashing gays, when Sarah Paulson is gay? Not that I knew that before I saw some info about her today on the Internet, but I'm surprised 1) that she would play so much against type and even tackle the big issues the actress tends to avoid in her personal life, and 2) that more people don't know this fact about her. Is this the reason why there is a spark lacking between Harriet and Matt Albie, or why we have been left without a kiss... read more be the first to leave a comment
  • Even with all the hype, do ... | Matt Roush | 10/2/2006
Question: Even with all the hype, do you think Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip will survive? I ask because while Matthew Perry is pitch-perfect, proving my instincts right (he was the most talented and underutilized Friends cast member), and while the dialogue is a little bit of heaven, after the second episode, am I the only one seeing some serious cracks in the foundation? I'm having a very hard time believing any of these characters. D.L. Hughley is the only person who even remotely seems like... read more be the first to leave a comment
