The Big Cat -- 1933. A city boy arrives in his late mother's birthplace to discover the locals have been pestered by drought, old fights and a cougar. He turns out to be pivotal in all of these.

The Big Cat -- The story of the struggle for survival of a few inhabitants in the 'high country' of Utah in 1933, during the worst draught they have ever known in the Great Depression. City boy Danny arrives at his Uncle Gil's ranch to help the family out. Although lacking in ranch hand skills, the boy manages to save his uncle's life when a 'Big Cat' (a cougar) comes onto the ranch, desperate for the water it needs to survive. A local backwoodsman spends the film trying to track and kill the cougar before it kills a human, and a romance blooms between two young locals. A beautifully filmed outdoor drama.

Double trouble: Winsocki Military Institute cadet Bud Hooper has two dates for the prom: his best girl - and publicity-seeking glamour girl Lucille Ball, who unexpectedly says yes to starstruck Bud's invitation. Comedy puts its Best Foot Forward in this snappy frolic based on the Broadway smash. The title could also apply to film-debuting June Allyson and Nancy Walker, memorably recreating their stage roles as sassy prom dates. Harry James and His Music Makers make Two O'Clock Jump jump, everybody socks over Buckle Down, Winsocki, and Lucy is lovely - and loopy, especially in a zany sequence stripped to her scanties and dashing in and out of closets. Okay, school isn't this much fun. But it should be!

Oscar-nominated picture stars Clark Gable ("Gone With the Wind," "Mogambo") and Spencer Tracy ("Mutiny on the Bounty," "Adam's Rib") as competitive oil prospectors who strike it rich in oil and romance. With screen legend Claudette Colbert ("It Happened One Night," "Cleopatra"), Hedy Lamar ("Ecstasy"), and Oscar-nominee Frank Morgan ("The Wizard of Oz").
