Sara Gilbert may be out and proud now, but the actress struggled for years before coming out publicly in 2010.
On Thursday's The Talk, in honor of the show's "secrets" week, Gilbert discussed her battle to accept her sexuality when she was still onRoseanne. At the time, Gilbert had been dating her co-star Johnny Galecki, but after the couple would make out, Gilbert would always get depressed. Confused, Galecki would take this personally, until she "eventually told him I thought it was about my sexuality and he was super sweet about it."
For someone who calls herself a "reluctant celebrity," Sara Gilbert sure is everywhere! On Monday, Sept. 9, she kicks off Season 4 of The Talk — the hit CBS gabathon she created — and that same day she starts work as a regular on the new CBS midseason sitcom Bad Teacher, based on the randy Cameron Diaz flick. Plus she just put out a book, The Imperfect Environmentalist (Ballantine), a guide to saving the Earth without driving yourself nuts. TV Guide Magazine spoke with Gilbert about her perfectly imperfect life.

Sharon Osbourne and Julie Chen
On paper, Julie Chen and Sharon Osbourne — the queen bees of CBS' girly gabfest The Talk — couldn't be more different. Chen, a pedigreed journalist, spent years rising up the ranks at The Early Show and hosting Big Brother. Osbourne, meanwhile, has passed the last decade-plus morphing from music manager to reality-TV pioneer and variety-show judge. (Heck, even their husbands are practically from different planets: Chen is married to Leslie Moonves, the power-suited president and CEO of CBS; Osbourne has a 30-year union with rock icon Ozzy.) And yet...
Sharon Osbourne, Aisha Tyler, Julie Chen
The women of The Talk took it all off for the Season 3 premiere. Co-hosts Sharon Osbourne, Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Aisha Tyler and Sheryl Underwood went makeup-free during Monday's episode.
The hosts weren't the only ones to go au naturel. Guest Jamie Lee Curtis also appeared without makeup.
The show started off with side-by-side photo comparisons of the ladies, allowing viewers to see the hosts' extreme make-unders — not to mention ample opportunities for self-deprecating humor!
Leah Remini, Sharon Osbourne
Seven months after getting fired from The Talk, Leah Remini is finally ready to talk. Remini, 41, opened up Monday about why she and fellow co-host Holly Robinson Peete were let go after just one season — pointing the finger at co-host Sharon Osbourne.
"Sharon thought me and Holly were 'ghetto'. . . we were not funny, awkward and didn't know ourselves," Remini wrote on Twitter. "She has the power that was given to her."
