“It was not a good day,” according to Dr. Wyatt (Amy Madigan), but I’m inclined to disagree. While Meredith may be fooling herself into thinking she can accept that “Derek is with Rose,” Derek clearly got a dose of reality when he slept with Rose and found himself only thinking about Meredith. Cleary these two are meant to be together, but I have to admit, the longing and anticipation is driving me crazy! In truth though, the angst also creates some of my favorite moments. When Derek stood in the hospital hallway between Rose and Meredith, and in essence, chose to “spend the night” with Meredith at the hospital rather than go home with Rose, I was melting. That was until Meredith advised him to leave anyway, but Derek did return with a bottle of champagne and a beautiful monologue about celebrating when they “finally get it right.” True, he was talking about when they finally succeed at treating a clinical patient, but I think we... read more

“Reunited and it feels so good!” Yes, it was almost like old times when Addison showed up tonight. If she hadn’t had to spend so much time “catching up” on all of the soapy Seattle Grace details, it might have felt like she had never left. And I almost allowed myself to be tricked into thinking she might return to Washington when the Chief suggested he could start her paperwork (despite knowing that Private Practice is fully expected to return in the fall). So, I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised when she dismissed the idea of a permanent stay by saying, “I needed to come back to see that it was right to leave.” Perhaps that’s how you feel Addison, but I still think you belong at Seattle Grace!Aside from Addison, there seemed to be a lot going on tonight. However, a visit from her would've-been mother-in-law quickly made her realize her commitment to her one true love (cardiothoracic surgery) was somewhat justified. It appears Joshua Jackson's Grey's Anatomy gig has ended before it began. And once again, the writers' strike is to blame. To quickly recap, Grey's announced last fall that the ex-Dawson's Creeker would be joining the cast for a multi-episode arc as a doctor and, as I would later report, a love interest for Cristina. Unfortunately, just weeks before he was scheduled to shoot his first episode, the writers went on strike and Jackson's stint, just like the TV biz itself, was put on hold. Cut to present day: The strike is over, Grey's is headed back into production, and Jackson is — yep, you guessed it — no longer available. During the work stoppage, J.J. Abrams hand-picked the actor to headline his new X-Files-esque Fox series Fringe, which is currently in production in Toronto (and will be through mid-March). After a long absence, Grey's Anatomy returned tonight with what could be the last glimpse we have at Seattle Grace for a while...and they did not disappoint. In a change from the norm, Bailey talked us through tonight's episode and from the moment she stated, "God created man and it's been downhill ever since," we knew that it was going to be a night unlike any other.Derek and Mark started things off by taking what looked like a light-hearted nature walk through the woods. Their travels ended up on a picturesque hilltop, where Derek exclaimed he was going to build his dream house. He wasn't kidding. With the architectural plans already mapped out, Derek blindsided Meredith with the news and her reaction was less than enthusiastic. Perhaps she was as shocked as I was to learn that McDreamy had put any thought into ever moving out of his shiny trailer.
