As anticipation for this Sunday's 80th Academy Awards grows, some Oscar fans just can't help looking back. In a survey by Parade magazine, readers were asked to pinpoint the most memorable moments from the show's 80-year history as well as sound off on this year's races. Crushing pretty much the world's entire heterosexual male population, Scarlett Johansson has let it be known that she will not be playing X-rated movie star Jenna Jameson in Heartbreaker, a movie about Jameson's checkered past. Marcia Diana Valentine of Huntington Beach, California, tried to mow down Sandra Bullock's hubby, Jesse James, with her Mercedes on Sunday after Bullock asked her apparently off-kilter "biggest fan" to leave the couple's home, the AP reports.After hopping into her car and throwing it into reverse, Valentine, 45, "attempted to hit [James] three or four times," then sped away, says a spokesman for the county sheriff. James was not injured, and Valentine was found and arrested on Monday on charges of assault with a Lake House DVD deadly weapon.

For months, the thing about Heroes that bothered me most was Milo Ventimiglia’s hair: specifically, that dreaded dangling forelock Peter Petrelli kept playing with, as if in thrall to a fetish. I’ve long wanted the boy to get a haircut. But not like this!Quite the horrifying climax to the March cliff-hanger (no new episodes until April 23), as Sylar pinned that dupe Mohinder to the ceiling while slicing into Peter Petrelli’s skull to see why Peter ticks like Sylar, only less murderously. Blood drops from Peter’s forehead onto the floor, followed by that hank of hair. I cringed, then I cheered. Well done.The episode was a crackerjack thrill ride with one reversal after another. Simone rising from the dead? Shut up! It’s really Candice, the slinky shape-shifter! Mrs. Bennet betraying her hubby, in cahoots with The Company? Shut up! Per the Hollywood Reporter, Columbia Pictures has acquired the screen rights to The Shadow, to at least be produced, if not directed, by Sam Raimi. The pulp hero, born from a 1931 radio series, last was played on film by Alec Baldwin.... Sandra Bullock is One of the Guys in a comedy about a real "guy's gal" who labors to embrace her feminine side, and apparently never rented Miss Congeniality.... The Longest Yard director Peter Segal will lens a comedy about the very first Olympics, penned by Craig and Jeff Cox (of Will Ferrell's forthcoming Blades of Glory).... Dimension Films has acquired North American rights to Storm Warning, a Deliverance-esque Aussie horror pic about a husband and wife on a fishing trip that goes terribly wrong. Prosecutors have charged Lou Diamond Phillips with domestic battery, in connection with an Aug. 11 incident where the actor reportedly got into a physical fight with his girlfriend, "push[ing] and drag[ging her] across the house." Phillips' arraignment is slated for Oct. 18.... Sandra Bullock's film company is suing Tennessee's state mental-health agency to ensure that the actress' attorneys are notified if Thomas James Weldon, a man she has accused of stalking her, is released this month from a mental-health facility.

Project RunwayI know it's not unusual, but it's so unfortunate that the finalists had to pull an all-nighter right before the biggest event of their career so far. Even after sewing all night, Daniel had what looked like either the show's assistants or the models themselves sewing on buttons backstage. But onstage you couldn't tell any of this, especially when he did a happy little jig for his family. I am still drooling over the white coat and the shirt with the dipping back. And I hope his and Chloe's dresses with pockets (along with Amy Adams' and Sandra Bullock's Oscar dresses) are the start of a trend.
