After taking over the Super Bowl, Saturday Night Live's favorite inept spy, MacGruber, is ready to explode onto the silver screen — perhaps with a former Caped Crusader in tow.
Val Kilmer and Ryan Phillippe are in negotiations to star in the film, co-written by MacGruber himself, SNL star Will Forte, who will reprise his role, according to the Hollywood Reporter. SNL's Kristen Wiig will also join as his always imperiled assistant.

Following criticism from GLAAD, gay activists and others, Jay Leno apologized Tuesday for questionable remarks he made to Ryan Phillippe during a recent Tonight Show interview. During Phillippe's appearance, Leno brought up the actor's first role, which was as a gay teen on One Life to Live, and then asked him to give his "gayest look." A visibly uncomfortable Phillippe declined the request, saying, "That is so something I don't want to do," and pretended to walk off the stage.Leno has since come under fire for it, but acknowledged the inappropriateness and apologized. In a statement released to TMZ.com on Monday morning, a spokesperson for Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe says, "We are saddened to announce that Reese and Ryan have decided to formally separate." The duo, who exchanged vows seven years ago, have two children, ages 7 and 3.
