David Giuntoli: I Eat Far Away From Grimm's Corpses

David Giuntoli may play homicide detective Nick Burkhardt in NBC's fairy tale-tinged crime procedural Grimm, but in real life, he's not that stoic when faced with corpses — especially the fake ones used on the series.

"I'm not usually easily disturbed, but I've walked on the set and been absolutely disgusted to my core," he tells TVGuide.com. "I'll always remember where I was when I saw this specific crime scene [in 'Danse Macabre']. There were rats crawling out of the stomach, out of the mouth of a corpse. The corpses, the prosthetics are so real that until you touch them, your brain doesn't understand that it's fake. It's terrifying. There's a lot of eating lunch in my trailer far, far away from the morgue set."

Exclusive First Look: Grimm's Monsters Unmasked!

Perpetrators of violent crimes have often been called monsters, but on NBC's new crime procedural Grimm, which premieres Friday, Oct. 28 at 9/8c, the criminals are monsters -- both literally and literarily.

It turns out that Grimm's Fairy Tales isn't a work of fiction, but an account of supernatural creatures that the Grimm family has destroyed throughout history to keep humanity safe. Portland cop Nick Burckhardt (David Giuntoli) has just discovered he's the last of that line of hunters, who have a gift of spotting the true, monstrous nature underneath the creature's magically mundane facade.

ABC Family Takes Drama to Daring, New Heights

Russell Hornsby is all over the map. He's making movies, shooting a TV drama — ABC Family's Lincoln Heights, which airs a new episode tonight at 7 pm/ET — and he's currently gracing the New York stage in an August Wilson play that he's very passionate about. Luckily, Hornsby found some downtime to talk to TVGuide.com about the characters he's been channeling and who he draws inspiration from. TVGuide.com: I watched the new episode of Lincoln Heights, "House Arrest," and I have to say it's not what I expected. The show really balances your character's cop life and home life, and that separates it from a lot of other crime dramas.Russell Hornsby: I really have to tip my hat to the executive producers and of course the creators, Seth Freeman, read more
