Roselyn Sanchez
CBS would be crazy to go without its Trace next fall, says Roselyn Sanchez, addressing talk that Without a Trace might get clipped after seven seasons.
"The show is still doing amazing when it comes to ratings," Sanchez points out to the New York Daily News. In its last outing, Trace topped its Tuesdays-at-10 time slot with 12 million viewers. "I'm sure everybody is a little scared," adds the actress, "but it would be ...

Posted by Jennie1...Jeers to Without a Trace for completely ignoring the Danny (Enrique Murciano)/Elena (Roselyn Sanchez) love-story arc for an entire season. Last year's season finale showed that they were together, but in the 18 episodes of Season 6, they didn't even so much as share a look to indicate that they're still together. This is just sloppy writing. Viewers don't need lots of drama between them, just a look showing us they still care for each other. Please, WAT writers! Wake up and stop dropping storylines without explaining why. Share your own raves and rants about other shows on the Reader Cheers & Jeers discussion board. We may feature your Cheer or Jeer on TVGuide.com or in TV Guide magazine!

Roselyn Sanchez and Eric Winter by Mathew Imaging/ WireImage.com
Eric Winter may have wowed Roselyn Sanchez with his midnight proposal by the edge of Vieques' bioluminescent bay in Puerto Rico where he presented her with a diamond ring that he designed but when it comes to planning their November wedding, Sanchez is definitely stepping up to the plate. As the ceremony will take place in Sanchez's native Puerto Rico, the Without a Trace star has put her entire family to work. In fact, even the governor of San Juan is offering a helping hand. "[The location] where Im going to [wed] is not open for private events, but [the governor] is a dear friend, so I went and said, 'I need your help' and he did it," she told TV Guide at the opening of the first Body Language Sportswear store. "Its the first wedding at a big fort in old San Juan. Its amazing." Winter himself is realizing that proposing is the easy part and planning a wedding around tropical rainstorms is a whole different undertaking. "It's like starting your own ...

Eric Winter and Roselyn Sanchez by Eric Charbonneau/WireImage.com
Having apparently forgiven her boyfriend of two years for Viva Laughlin, Without a Trace's Roselyn Sanchez got engaged to Eric Winter during a holiday vacation on Vieques, an island east of mainland Puerto Rico. In a statement to the AP, a spokesperson for Sanchez (one of TV Guide's Sexiest Stars of 2007) says she and Winter (who is on his way back to Brothers & Sisters... someday) will discuss a wedding date and location upon their return to Los Angeles.

Without a Trace
Question: First, I love your column; you always give really insightful answers. Second, after two strong episodes of Without a Trace, I wonder what CBS is doing to my favorite show! They make a point of setting up tension between Danny and Jack, adding to the awkwardness between the two from the shooting in the premiere, but by the third episode, they've dropped the whole thing. It's very frustrating. What's more frustrating is that they've added a new cast member, Elena (Roselyn Sanchez), to a cast that doesn't need adding to. In my opinion, they have the strongest cast of the crime shows, so why mess with that chemistry? She didn't add anything in the last episode. Did you like the first two episodes? And what do you think of the new agent?
Answer: There's a lot of this "Why fix what isn't broken?" grumbling going on about the hot procedural crime dramas this season. Pretty much across the board, CBS had its crime dramas shake up the casts — losing or gaining cast or recurring cast

Question: I read that Without a Trace is adding a new female agent, to be played by Roselyn Sanchez, to the cast to fill in for the "crisis-plagued" team. My concern is why would the producers mess with one of the best ensembles on television? As it is, the five characters don't get enough airtime (especially Danny) because they deal with a case each week. Why would CBS make changes to a show that is more successful than it has ever been? It doesn't make sense. Casting sexy new "stunt" characters is usually for shows that are in trouble.
Answer: This year many of CBS' procedurals are adding new cast members, including a new female detective on the Cold Case team, and the way the producers have explained it to me is that it gives them more, not fewer, opportunities for stories and for ensemble interaction. I've seen a lot of mail from Trace fans in particular who get frustrated that the characters don't get more opportunity for juicy stories. That, in part, is why Marianne Jean-Baptiste
