Gone Girl won the weekend box office, just edging out the new horror movie Annabelle.
Based on the best-selling book, Gone Girl stars Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike and grossed $38 million, according to Box Office Mojo. Annabelle followed close behind with $37.2 million.
This week, two dearly departed comedians were honored by the TV industry at large: Billy Crystal paid tribute to his friend Robin Williams at the Emmy Awards, and former Saturday Night Live cast member Phil Hartman finally received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (as well as an entire day dedicated to him).
